Mehmet Dalman confirmed Slade's future is not in doubt, dismissing Portugese press reports to the contrary.
Cardiff City chairman Mehmet Dalman has confirmed Russell Slade is the manager who will lead the Bluebirds next season amid reports on the continent linking Portugese boss Bruno Ribeiro with the role.
Speaking to WalesOnline, Dalman confirmed Slade's future is not in doubt, dismissing Portugese press reports to the contrary.
Media outlets in Portugal claim the Bluebirds have already contacted 39-year-old Ribeiro following a recommendation from Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho.
The reports say Ribeiro, who knows British football well after playing spells at Leeds and Sheffield United, is interested in the role but is keen to focus at the moment on keeping Vitória Setúbal in the Portuguese top-flight.
But Dalman said: “Russell will be our manager next season. Rumours to the contrary, including links with a manager in Portugal, are completely unfounded.
“Stories about a new manager are rubbish.”
While owner Vincent Tan is the man who has the final say on big decisions, he and Dalman enjoy a close relationship, with the chairman stating there is a clear desire for Slade to remain in his job.
According to the reports, Ribeiro, who is out of contract at his current club this summer, has asked for time to think about a potential move to Cardiff.
However, it is said he has instructed his agent to keep in contact with the Bluebirds over the situation and plans to make up his mind next month.
Ribeiro is desperate to keep his home town club amongst the likes of Benfica and FC Porto in the Portuguese top flight and wants to focus entirely on that until the end of the season.
They are two places outside the relegation zone with seven games to go. They have a five point cushion over the bottom two.
Portuguese newspaper ABola headlined a story ‘Ribeiro coveted by Cardiff’, while Mais Futbol stated ‘Cardiff want Ribeiro as coach’ over the weekend

Did Dalman watch that shit today?
And he wants that clown in charge next season?
Solskjaer followed by Slade - does anybody in charge at our club have any idea about football?
Systematically ruining our club from the inside outwards.
Can't help feeling that Tan is getting his revenge.

You've been Slades biggest fan this season.
Then you went off him, then you started supporting him again & even earlier today you said he needs a chance. Now you're back to sacking him!
Have you any idea or any clue whatsoever?

I only changed twice if i recall and even before today it seemed that Slade was turning the corner and today it made me realize that Slade needs to go and yes maybe i'm fickle but i'm not the only one.
