Great to see Joe back on the pitch again in a City shirt.

Welcome back Joe!

Not put any weight on by the look of him!

Did ok in the short time he wa on - one or two decent touches and good movement but too many balls were played to him in the air (as usual).

Lacked a bit of sharpness but then he has been out for a long time.

Hopefully he'll get more game time this season.

I understand why every manager wants to keep him as his touch, coolness and technique are top class. Physically he is poor, both slow and weak, thats why i asked if he put ant weight on.

He linked up well with kenny millar and looks like he needs to be in a 442, so Slade staying could be a blessing for Joe

He done sod all in the short time he had on the pitch but all we tried to give him were long balls to chase & a couple of high balls to try to out jump the big centre backs!
Good to see him back in a City shirt, though I don't see him as a Slade type player.

Not quite sure role he plays now. Still painfully slow and weak.

Lets face it we were walking it until Revell went off. He offers very little or is he so unfit he is being pushed because we loaned out our first choice pairing ?

least effective player on the pitch and that included a pensioner....

He was as bad as everyone else

No..... We were doing well until Revell went off. Another passenger that offered very little. Probably not match ready but we let 2 strikers go out on loan and Macheda is injured.

The difference over a season is always the strikers.

Look very unfit and weak.

Looked very rusty and unfit. Get a good pre-season into him and he'll be back firing next year. :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

He has definitely been on the weights.

People are acting like he's going to be some sort of saviour for us.

He never really progressed after his first season, and I don't think he suits a 4-4-2

Very slow and fluffed his lines in front of goal.
Disappointing, but hopefully just rusty

Always been average joe and always will be average joe imo, not good enough for a promotion chasing team and if we are pinning hopes on joe mason to be a player to get us promoted we got no chance.

Agree with this.

He wasn't wanted at a poor Bolton so why would anyone think he is any better than what we've got :?

He's now played under any number of managers here and at Bolton and yet he still hasn't managed to hold down a regular starting place.

I like the guy but he simply does not have enough pace to make it as a front man in the Championship. His runs are intelligent but once he gets there he doesn't have the burning pace to run away from the defenders, it's a shame because his finishing is quite good but pace is one thing that players either have or don't and no amount of coaching/training will change that.

Needs to start proving that he's got a future here. Other than scoring against Liverpool what else has he done?
