Vote Plaid Cymru

Sat Apr 04, 2015 10:26 am

The only party that will allow us to make our own decision and stay in the EU once the UK withdraws. We benefit so much from being an EU member that leaving would be disastrous. Free movement is great for Wales.

Vote Plaid Cymru. Wales can be great no matter what all the doom and gloom merchants say.

Vote for policies for the Welsh people, not policies for London profit.

She destroyed Farage over his daft comments and she was the only honest one on free movement but actively embraced it as a positive. I'll vote on policies and humanitarian causes. Unlike yourself, I don't think profit is everything.

Leanne Wood did Wales proud that night. She wants to put Wales on the global map and she destroyed Farage.

So it turns out, the only thing that plaid will do to attract all those big businesses you sought after, is rate relief.

:ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

That would be your only decision made on your own as every other one would be made by the EU, which is why your party is so hypocritical. Plaid want devolution so that the English in Westminster are not governing Wales, yet once they are out of the UK would join the EU so that they could be governed by the Germans and the French. The party just wants more jobs for career politicians with the four layers of government that comes as part of the EU package, rather than the three outside the EU or even two if a return to the old style of politics without the waste of space National Assembly. Wales has almost got all that is required in resources to be a successful independent country, enough water; arable land for crops; enough marginal land for livestock; enough energy; fabulous scenery for tourism; a barely adequate transport network ; but the only politicians who want independence are more interested in their own pockets chasing the extra jobs that the EU provides for career politicians.

Plaid cymru, the party who gets English translated in to welsh which costs £250000 of taxpayers money.....

Don't care if Wales benefits from E U money. The money stays in Cardiff anyway and doesn't go to other parts of Wales.

I'm voting UKIP as a protest vote.

I thought Woods looked amatuer and i am sure the distinguished gentlemen who have been the leaders or leading politicians were not pleased with her note driven stuttering performance either.....Please don't post a paste a quote from them after the event ....They all won

It was the "diolch yn fawr" at the end of the evening that drummed it home.....Its will always be associated as a language obsessed party rather than a serious alternative to labour. The SNP do not have the stigma of the language, they can concentrate on the real issues. The sight of the translators earphones at the senedd really highlights the pettiness of our country.

Wood i believe is the first non Welsh speaking leader, as they need to spread into the valleys, but the first thing she had to do is learn the language, as there is still a sniff of elitism within the party.

I am not sure where the OP believes the break through will come from, but in the key SE seats they will poll less than ukip forget about labour

Why is free movement great for Wales?
If we were out of the EU and had controlled immigration then when a post in the NHS required a nurse or Doctor, a Filipino nurse or Middle Eastern Doctor could still be employed, but in areas where workers were not needed, like many unskilled jobs then the numbers would be controlled. The current system results in an uneven playing field for many people which is biased against people from Wales. Think about someone who wants to set up a business valeting cars for example or as a plumber. As every pound saved by someone from Poland is worth 5.5 Zloty, then they can undercut on prices, save their money and when they return home buy their dream home in a fraction of the time. Not only can they undercut on labour rates, but as they expand they buy the equipment required back in Poland at less than a fifth of the price. Quotes for both labour and materials for some construction jobs are less than locals can buy the materials. Furthermore, if someone is saving and taking their money overseas then there is no knock-on effect, where the money is usually spent 8 times on average over the following year. This knock-on effect helps turn over the economy providing jobs, goods, services and taxes.

Destroyed Farage ? Did she f**k because his comment was factually right and the point he is making is about health tourism which is a problem I'm this country. Remember it's called the National Health Service not the International Health Service!!!!

Insignificant little party that will get their usual handful of votes mainly in the west and Anglesey, but will get nowhere throughout most of Wales, just like they have in every other general election over the years. To my mind, a wasted vote in the same way as voting for the monster raving loony party was.

Is this the same Leanne Wood who thinks she is leader of the party of Wherles? It's Wales Leanne

Are you seriously riled by the 'diolch yn fawr' at the end of her closing statement? Wow, that is shocking. What's wrong with speaking a language that has official status in Wales? At least it shows the ignorant little Englanders (like Farage and his UKIP chums) that there are other living indigenous languages in the UK besides English.

To describe bilingualism as 'pettiness' and the language as a 'stigma' is quite staggering and just shows your ignorance and narrow-mindedness, frankly.

By the way, she's never been forced to learn the language. She was learning before she became leader.

It costs us millions, not the billions Mr Farage stated. He's full of rubbish anyway. He just wants the poorest to go through more austerity whilst the richest keep bonuses etc. He's no different from LibLabCon in reality. UKIP dont offer real change other than EU withdrawal, which would be a disaster for Wales as funding for research and investment would collapse. These people are their own worst enemy as they're happy to support the rife corporatism that the other parties endorse but cry when a party wants to clamp down on tax avoidance by the multinationals. People like Brownie are too thick to understand that SME's like his are actually footing the bill of this nation whilst multinationals get tax reliefs at his and other SME owners expenses. He's literally allowing himself to be taken for a mug by politicians endorsing corporatism. We need to push taxes up on multinationals so that people can live more comfortably and then you get more confidence in the economy, more spending and economic growth.

You've just completely changed your stance on business. A total U turn.

And, I don't see how you can see an exit from the UK as vital, then claim exiting the EU is catastrophic.

They are a shitty party with shitty small minded ideas that only people who pick and choose the information they want to hear because it fits with their misplaced narrative. An independent Wales as it stands would be almost instantly bankrupt, and don't give me your shit about about unfunded tidal lagoons and flogging water to England. Other countries do just fine because they all speak their own language. Almost three quarters of the people of Wales have no Welsh speaking ability, and English is not a second language as far as the majority of Wales is concerned.
