Closing 117 real reason.

Nobody knows if the club has done this following the recent support for a signing section amongst us fans, we won't know the real reason , I have read a lot of negative posts on here and while I feel the frustration I think often presumptions are made on lots of things because of the way we have been treated as fans the last few years. I agree it's suspicious, but I would like to think we aren't battling with the club over something like this.

I wasn't sure what support we would get with this, all I can say is that it's been phenomenal. The seats and rows will be announced tomorrow. Let's do this bluebirds

Your organising the singing section and well done to you , so just get in touch with the club and ask them what's going on.

The real reason should have hit you in the face like a wet fish, it's obviously for the same reason as they're closing the new Upper Ninian Stand!

How dare our club who are more than 100 million pounds in debt try and cost cut for the forthcoming season!

String fellow. I really admire your efforts and passion over this one, but really you'd be better off setting this up in the Canton.
Do that and you'd get 100% support from all fans and the club who really want to help improve the atmosphere BUT also want to avoid losing fans because they are finding their view blocked by others.

Totally agree, this can only go one way if this plan is fcolllowed through and it'll end up causing a lot more unnecessary friction amongst our own fans!

Possibly, but not necessarily ,too late now, but maybe the club could encourage the use of the Canton centre blocks as a singing section by offering cheap season tickets, particularly for under 25 s for the block and making it clear in the offer that standing is tolerated there ?

While I totally appreciate your opinion, I have also learnt when organising something that not all will agree or will have a different idea. Ask the boys who do the buses, have done a few myself and it's not easy. Am going to go with this, stick to the plan and see where it takes us. Am a firm believer if your leading something you stick with it, people know what's happening and if they have a different opinion our idea then by all means express that opinion or they don't get on board. The club don't support Anything, on we go. I will be speaking with the club today

I run buses regularly to away games and understand completely where you are coming from.
I also desperately want you to succeed with this as we really need a boost as fans.
I'm really pleased there are still other fans there with a love and passion for the club that isn't conditional on success ,manager, football style, badge, colour, owner , manager etc...

Well done String, I think many like Lawnmower are misunderstanding why we are trying to get a singing section in the Ninian. It is not to replace the Canton, but is primarily for those who have been in the Ninian and want to be with like minded supporters in one section. Personally, I have had a ST in 117 since the CCS opened and chose there, because I like to watch the game from the side rather than behind the goal as I always did at Ninian Park. Now, as ST sales have tumbled, it gives the opportunity to have more choice as where your going to be sat and who you will be sat with.

You are spot on with this post, I don't think it's something to debate people can either get on board or not, nobody is telling anybody it's an open invite
