Here is a strange one

Not really ever posted on here before but here goes.
Been a Cardiff City fan for 40 yrs. First game a home match v Heroford which my dad took me too back in 74/75 season I believe.
We'll I am about to take my 7 yr old to the Reading v Cardiff game in the Reading end as I live in berkshire for my sins and have been given two season tickets to use as a friend and his boy cannot go (work commited) so very kindly has given me his tics to use.
Now this is where it is a sticky wicket as genuinely want my boy to watch/play local football (he's good too). Fed up of all these young kids not supporting local football and all wanting to support Chelsea, etc.
So really keen on him watching Reading matches but no way will dad (me) ever support anybody else. Most of my Reading mates think this is admirable as I cannot get back and for to Cardiff as easy as I can a Reading match plus it is his (my boy) his local club. Was actually born in royal berks hospital.
It's lovely seeing kids support there dad's teams but I know this is awkward for me but it's about my lad. Anyway here's hoping for a good day and a narrow victory for Cardiff with a goal for my boy to celebrate when Reading score (if).

I know the feeling, me and my lad are both bluebirds season ticket holders, although we live in swindon. We travel back for every home game and some away ( including saturday). But all his mates are either prem team supporters or swindon town supporters. If he decided he wanted to support his local team (swindon) instead of Cardiff, then I'd support that as i am a firm believer in supporting local football, we've even been down the county ground a few times this season when cardiff have been away mid week, and have enjoyed.

I have renewed both our season tickets for next year, but I do believe it will be his last, I think the pull of watching local football with his mates will be too strong, but I can't argue with that.

I could never change though. I'll always be a Bluebird!

It's really strange and feels quite surreal. I was in the Reading end 3yrs ago when Whittingham scored that 40 yarder and we one 2.1 also been with our fans on numerous of times. One that comes to mind was when Reading won the league (think 05/06) and we played them on boxing day, maybe new years day (can't remember) and got beat 5.1

Hope that doesn't get repeated this Saturday. Always as a kid wanted my kids to support Cardiff but hay ho, logistics have got in the way of this one.
