' Kenwyne Jones impressed '

' Kenwyne Jones has revealed that he has been "impressed" by what he has seen at his new club Bournemouth. '

Tuesday 31st March 2015

The striker only arrived at Dean Court last week on a loan deal from fellow Championship outfit Cardiff City.

However, despite having only recently joined up with the leaders, the 30-year-old has hailed the high standards set by both manager Eddie Howe and his new teammates.

"Just over the last few days training with the team and interacting with them and the manager it's a true indication of where they are. The way they train, the way they prepare has been on point. In all honesty over my career it's like nothing I've ever seen before," he told the club's official website.

"I'm quite excited by it and I think they do have the formula to do well so kudos to the manager, the staff and the football club for the way they have been going about their business and hopefully they'll be able to take that into the last seven games and also into next season.

"It's been a short time but I'm very much quite impressed with [Howe's] work rate and his attention to detail and his philosophy so I think on the club front for me without fail he's probably the best manager I've worked with, in that short space of time."

Jones is expected to make his debut for the Cherries away at Ipswich Town on Friday afternoon.

Or just the simple fact that he's at a better club.

Have you ever known any player to turn up at a new club and say anything different?

Actually they always big the club and fans up but as far as what jones was saying no one has said anything like that about Cardiff since malky was here in regards to the training and professionalism etc.

Not at a better club - more like a better run club :(

That makes them better in my opinion. Having a bigger stadium and a bigger fanbase doesn't necessarily mean that a club is better, just bigger. Leeds are the perfect example.

Hopefully he does well. We need to get him off the wage bill. We could pay 2 good championship players wages instead.

He's just at a club on a high just like we were two years ago. Everyone friggin loved being here.

Its all to do with league positions and nothing to do with the set ups

There is one certainty, Bournemouth have a better manager!

A progressive manager who gets his teams to play attractive attacking football. They do not shut shop when they go one up or even when they go four up!

Bournemouth deserve to go up this season. Just need to tighten up at the back.

How is that lazy sod gonna fit in with them then?

Players who signed for us didn't say that about us. Malky spoke a lot about signing the right players and preparing dossiers etc then he signed Cornelius and lost all credibility.

Eddie Howe says he hopes loan signing Kenwyne Jones has a ‘big impact’ in the final seven games of the season.
Howe brought Jones in on an emergency loan deal until the end of the season last week to bolster his options up front, as Callum Wilson faces the possibility of a spell on the sidelines.

“With the number of games we have to go and with Callum’s injury against Middlesbrough and the tightness of the division, so with loads of things taken into consideration, we thought it was wise to bring in a striker,” he told the media.

“To get one of Kenwyne’s experience and quality, I’m delighted wth the signing. We hope he can have a big impact.

“I think he is different. He’s a big presence, he’s a big strong lad, he knows where the goal is and technically he is good as well which is always important for us.

“I just think he’s an option to have at a key stage of the season for us, and if he can inspire us to more points then I think it will be well worth bringing him in.”

Expanding further on Wilson’s fitness, Howe added, “It’s not clear exactly what his problem is.

“He obviously came off injured and he hasn’t trained so he’s going to be doubtful for the games over Easter.

“We haven’t had a definite decision as to whether he is unavailable or available but at this moment with no training in two weeks, it looks extremely doubtful.”
