I was there, we were sold short by the Welsh FA who allowed all the Scottish fans to buy tickets at the Kop end which was supposed to be our end. I will never forget that the Scottish fans forced us into the far corner by throwing beer cans that were full of p...! Those were the days, NOT.

I met Joe Jordan many years later and asked him about that hand ball and he simply said it was a long time ago and we should all move on. Was he right?

Fond memories, it does make you question, like many others on this forum as to whether the so called good times will ever return. I don't think so.

86 was it ? Wales V Scotland the night Jock Stein died that was never a penalty. If the player had not handled it for sure it would of ended up on the centre circle of where our stadium is now. Cheating Scottish .........

I was also there, hemmed up in the top corner of the Kop. True about the WFA, they stitched us up!

Me too. Will never forgive him simply because of his celebration in cheating his way to the penalty. It would be a bit naïve to expect him to say "no penalty ref, it was me who handled the ball" but the clenched fist celebration was just taking the piss.

The Welsh FA were based at Wrexham at that time. Scottish supporters clubs & touts bombarded the WFA office at Fairy Rd, who were more than happy to oblige too their massive demand for tickets,,, so much so that segregation at our supposed "home" game went out of the window in a matter of hours. We might as well have played at Hampden Park, or Murrayfield stadium that night!

Got seven shades of sh*t kicked out of us on the kop, lost to a penalty that shouldn't have been and to top it all off the engine of our bus blew up on the way home and was stuck in poxy Liverpool until 3 o' clock that morning waiting for them to send a replacement bus!

Me too always remember the amount of drink that had been confiscated from the scots as you entered the kop

I was there also.... One hell of a experience and felt cheated big time as 98% of the fans were Scots and we welsh fans were pushed tight in to the corner of the Kop, subjected to bottles , etc being thrown at us, dozens of bottles in the air at any one time . The atmosphere in and outside the ground was horrible and dominated by the Jocks, who were seeking out any welsh fans. As for the football Joes Jordons hand ball will always dominate the thoughts of that match and how we were robbed .

Yes, amazing scenes. The whole area was saturated with empty beer bottles and cans,,,inside Anfield was even worse. I've not seen the likes of it since. It was the first time that I saw a can of McEwans Lager, light Blue can. A couple of years later you could get it on draught, South of the border,,, & a good pint it was too!
