Section 117 Bringing it Back Campaign

Tue Mar 24, 2015 6:46 pm

I have posted previously ( don't ask me how to put that on here ) the topic was unofficial singing section 116/117. If somebody could put that up for me be great.

I have now created a Facebook page, https://www.facebook.com/pages/CCFC-117 ... 2902293099.

Am trying to figure the social media side of it out, I used to be ok but doesn't it half move forward.

The idea is to create a singing section in 117 upper then lower and eventually merge with 116, to many complain about it maybe because they are alienated in ground or to far away. I said I would take this on, and here I am, this is just the very start and something has to be done. The idea is to get as many fans who wish to create noise, and I appreciate some don't wish to. This is not a standing section but a singing section and within the rules.

You will see flyers over the next month #bringingitback

We are looking for fans to make the switch to 117 not just talk about it and say it's a good idea, let's give it a go bluebirds.

Does that mean you are going to sit down and sing?

That would be great but might just turn out to cause big problems.

Take a quick look at another thread also suggesting this and you'll see it turns quickly to comments encouraging people to stand in numbers regardless of what the club or stewards do.

You must have noticed the verbals and then removal of a fan last week, which was apparently caused by a drunken fan standing in front of an old guy and then getting aggressive when asked to sit down.

Unfortunately the idea of standing at the back of the Ninian, which is the only workable solution to not spoiling it for fans who prefer to sit, won't work. There will still be a number of more selfish, possibly drink fuelled fans who will stand and block views further down. This causes trouble and is precisely why Cardiff, other clubs and the League won't allow standing, because it leads to bother.

We're luckier than most as we have a section in the Canton that the club turns a blind eye to.

I am more than aware of the obstacles, nobody has to relocate and nobody has to stand. I appreciate what your saying but sometimes you have to try. The club also turn a blind eye to the away fans.

i sit in 116 and the standing does my head in, but i fully respect all those who do want to watch football from the side and stand.

I will be moving to 113/4 for next season.....good luck guys

we definitely need a singing section. We've tried the canton for 5 years and it hasn't worked. Let's try the Ninnian. Better banter by away fans. Nothing to lose.

I moved because of this to canton and while I enjoy standing it's just to far away,

You got me all wrong Stringfellow. If I was all negative why would I bother shelling out all my spare cash following City everywhere they go.

There's a difference between negativity and opinion.

I wasn't even negative about Tan or the Red shirts. I just want to support my team, my way and with them playing at least moderately entertaining football.

A better atmosphere is what we all want but I would always respect the little lady sitting behind me who couldn't see if I stood up. Unfortunately, and surely nobody would disagree, that there are quite a few City Fans who wouldn't be as thoughtful as me.

Away fans are tolerated standing, as we always are at other stadiums. That's because they can't ban you for it there but that's not the case if we stand outside the Canton at our place. I stand at away games for that very reason.

Lol, if everyone always agreed then this wouldn't be a forum and you'd end up posting and answering your own threads.

I hear you Skewett, and I appreciate we all have different opinions it's just that for years the little old lady had her section, the families a section and then the lads had a section and we were all happy
