Guess you wasn't around when we had no BEST PLAYERS to sell to start with, oh the joys of modern football and its fans

I don't get this 'no ambition' reason for not renewing?
Just because we're cutting the wage bill and squad size (which we 100% need to anyway) doesn't mean we can't compete? Support the club through thick and thin, don't understand why you walk away when things aren't going perfect!

I can just about remember john toshack sold to liverpool when cardiff had the best chance of going to the old division 1. Then on his way to liverpool to join keegan

Many thousands of them will not renew though shep, yet the same people cried about the red and the debt weekly are now not renewing because we are getting the debt down and we got blue back.
You couldn't make this shit up with our fan base

Plastic buddy only been around probably since the cup finals days ,you should support your club no matter what

We were so ambitious 3 years ago that the majority of our fan base were all for having the soul ripped out of our club just for a place in the prem. No ambition now, happy days.

Would you keep throwing money at it? I know I wouldn't, even if I was a billianare. Cutting wage bills and trying to balance the books is the sensible thing to do IMO. We can still aim for promotion, and do it playing decent football with a budget squad. Just need to bring in the right players. Swansea, Blackpool, Southampton, have done it in recent seasons, and Bournemouth look like doing it this season. If we keep going the way we are, our club could end up going to the wall. Our debts are already off the scale. Personally I'm glad we finally seem to be doing something about it. Fuk the premier league, I just want a club to support long into the future

I'm happy to offload the big earners. We tried to splash the cash in the Premiership on so-called top players and it failed miserably. (albeit under awful distractions).
Boot the high earners out, give the kids a chance and take some gambles on freebies and lower league talent. Have some pride in the new shirt and badge, get the fans on board and lets give the rest of the league some old fashioned Cardiff attitude and passion.
We are still very good at this....its just we've been in-fighting for too long.

Agree with young kids giving them ago and i know they played really well in the fa cup. Then humpty dumpty leaves them out the next match ralls and john both played well when selected

The ambition should be to make the club sustainable, I'm hoping we are.

100% with you ^^^^^^
This phase, maybe two or three years will be an opportunity to build sensibly and not rely on huge payouts to bring in stars. The whole team should be stars and this can be achieved with patience and hard work. The fact that demotion has been avoided this year is an achievement in itself.
Keep the identity.
Build solidarity.
Move towards solvency.
Win.

This is why I'm fine with this reducing the wage bill selling good players
Fed up seeing excuses not to go
It happens all the time
Crying over everything

correct, the man is rich enough to take the hit, could of reduced the wage bill and make the club self-sufficient gradually, like a 10 year strategy. Employed a top manager to bring him the success he craves.
Now he wants all his money back after throwing his toys out the pram

Financial fair play means he has to balance the books, the goal posts have been moved, even Chelsea and man city are affected, thats why they will find it harder to dominate in the champions league, they can no longer go out and buy whoever they want and buy success.

a substantial contingent of our fan base is used to relative success and will not renew if the football is crap. the club know we have a huge number of fair weather fans, and can't expect those people to keep renewing as they demand a quality of football and entertainment that will not be delivered next season.
they're not worth stressing over really. these threads are like babies crying for attention - if we stop indulging them they'll soon stop.

Suck it up fella its the price of Blue.

I'm just gutted that Cardiff City are the only club that sells players and doesn't slash season ticket prices year on year

You are spot on!
The majority of fans who support their local teams do so in the lower divisions. They then watch the PL games on sky or a dodgy download. This is ok. As long as you get the kick from being part of a supporters' army, that's all that matters.
In a couple of years, I may trade my car in for a brand new Kia Cee'd. That car will mean everything to me and I will be happy. Doesn't mean I don't watch Top Gear.... Oh hang on..... Ok, bad example, but you know what I mean.
