' He won't face any further action '

Gary Rowett has escaped censure after being sent to the stands during the second half of Birmingham City’s frustrating defeat at Cardiff City.

No action to be taken by FA after Blues boss is sent to the stands

Although Rowett won’t face any further action the Football Association have ‘reminded him of his responsibilities’ after his uncharacteristic outburst at the Cardiff City Stadium.

With his side trailing 1-0 and under-performing Rowett’s urbane exterior cracked after he felt a throw-in was wrongly awarded against his team.

He remonstrated with referee and his assistant and slammed the ball into the ground whereupon Graham Salisbury ordered him off.

However, the fact he didn’t swear or verbally abuse the officials has clearly worked in his favour.

But there was concern he might not evade punishment given the fact this was the second time in successive away games the 41-year-old has lost his cool.

Earlier this month he was involved in a touchline confrontation with Derby’s Johnny Russell after he felt the striker demonstrated unsporting behaviour.

Rowett, who was shoved in a touchline melee, apologised for that incident immediately afterwards

To be fair, he doesn't do this all the time and didn't actually abuse the officials.

A sensible outcome. :bluescarf:

Getting angry over a throw in, and after viewing it again it actually was OUR throw in :laughing5:
