' Whisper it quietly '

Yes, don’t shout it out, but if current form continues the Bluebirds are in danger of earning a top ten finish in the Championship.

It is an aim that looked very unlikely not so long ago.

The Bluebirds are now 13th, three points behind Blackburn who currently occupy 10th place.

There are seven games left, so the unlikely could just become likely.

Sure, it might not seem much compared to the ambitions at the start of the campaign, but it might provide a confidence boost ahead of next season.

Tucker obviously didn't bother to look at the Rotherham v Sheffield Wednesday result.

We should now reach a minimum of 60 points as our Home games against Bolton, Millwall and Blackpool have to be considered winnable. With the exception of Ipswich away we have Leeds, Reading and Forest who are as inconsistent as we are so most anything is possible.

Blackburn face the same teams as we do with two exceptions, where we have Blackpool at Home they have Huddersfield away and where we have Bolton at Home they have Birmingham away.

We have now lost just 2 games in the last 11 and are unbeaten in the last 5 away, winning 3, so it's difficult to argue that as a team we have not turned a corner and credit must go to the team and yes Russell Slade.

Since the start of this run we have won 51% of the points available which if maintained over a 46 game season would put us just short of the playoffs. If we had maintained this level of the 39 games so far this season we would be on approx 60 points, or 9th place.

No doubt we have improved but the level of improvement still places us adrift of what would be required to force ourselves into playoff contention. So still much to do going forward but fair play to both the team and Russell Slade for the improvements achieved.

Much to do but how much.

A little bit here or a little bit there to make us ready for a push next season? 51% could increase enough to get us to a play off spot with a little bit more OR will the summer break mean we need a lot more once the surgical knife has been applied again, that being selling our best players.
