Birmingham fans expressed their anger as they fell at the hands of Cardiff City on Saturday afternoon.
A very slow first half didn't produce many chances, however towards the end of the half, Cardiff were forced into an early change after Alex Revell looked in some discomfort after a tussle with a defender. Eoin Doyle replaced the former Rotherham Utd man, and it would be Doyle to open the scoring.
It took five minutes of the second half for the Irishman to convert a superb Matthew Kennedy pull-back, Kennedy himself was also introduced just after the break, with Aron Gunnarsson going with a suspected hamstring problem. Doyle, who opened his account, made it 1-0 on 50 minutes after good play from Kennedy and Noone.
Gary Rowett was then sent to the stands after a verbal altercation with the referee regarding a decision, and it all went downhill from there for The Blues. On 71 minutes Doyle almost doubled The Bluebird's lead, but his strike rebounding off the post, then 4 minutes later, Cardiff won a penalty, Eoin Doyle the player being fouled. No one else but Peter Whittingham stepped up and finished it calmly to make the nerves a little less visible throughout the Welsh capital.
Kenwyne Jones also had 2 or 3 chances to make it a third, but Cardiff held on for only their second home win 2 months, a record that would have been broken as the worst home form in 25 years if they had lost this game.
Joe Ralls, Matthew Kennedy and Eoin Doyle had excellent performances for the The Bluebirds, while Birmingham were very disappointing and created little in an attacking threat.
The Bluebirds head into the international break with 7 points from their last 9 games and will hope this form can continue once the season commences once again. With a trip to Reading awaiting, Russell Slade's side will not want a repeat of the F.A Cup tie at The CCS.
