'Fans expect decent football shocker'

What is damaging season ticket sales? has to be the standard of football surely?

Even if we use the Slade term 'transition' for the second half of the season, the standard of football since he took over has nose-dived more than anyone could ever of imagined. The club is clearly not bothered by this, too busy number-crunching to realise they need to entertain supporters.

I think it's unfair personally to keep branding fans 'glory-hunters' 'fair-weather fans' Some fans are just not as blinkered in my view.

A sensible approach from the club would of been to reduce expectations and admission costs. However, they want to cost-cut without re-evaluating the impact that has on the paying public, that is a dangerous game. Basically, knock a couple of quid off and i'll go along with what the club is doing as it needs to be done.

I don't think the club appreciates the financial implications of watching Cardiff week-in week-out. The cost cutting curve should be done together in unity by club and fans.

Thomas, They expect us to pay £30 plus a match or buy season tickets for next season, yet they are selling selling selling and the football is dire.

But I still go,because Cardiff City is like drug to me.

Annis, fairplay to you and the fans who will go rain or shine, you guys will be needed more than ever next season :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

I am getting a bit tired of the 'we'll be better off without the plastics' etc. The club won't be better off, they need to fill that stadium and they're making a right pigs ear of it!!

Lads I'm a complete outsider as far as the city goes being over from Ireland but I'm so shocked I've been out over an hour already and I have not seen one cardiff shirt in the city yet not just that not one bar has any cardiff city fc reference or memorabilia up. Ok I'm on st Mary street. And I'm assuming as I get close to stadium that will change but this has actually saddened me.

It feels like in the home of by beloved bluebirds, the club I defend daily against mocking and ridicule from ignorant arrogant Chelsea Liverpool Man U n arsenal fans ( 99% off who have never been to a game) are being abandoned by their own here. I feel sorry for you city fans here it has to be saddening to see all the foreign shirt in your city.

Sorry for rant probably a bit off topic but had to get it off my chest

Agree with you 100% I bet most of us know of many fans who've been to the northern team on a Tuesday night back in the dungeon days yet are not getting a season ticket for whatever circumstances and these are not glory supporters. I admire anyone who watches our team home and away whatever division we play in but some people can't do this for any number of reasons that doesn't mean they are not disappointed when we lose or frustrated when we let in a late equaliser.

I can't get over it. I'm Genuinely saddened. I have to travel from Ireland to see professional football we have an amateur league at home which I follow but can not imagine not supporting q local professional team because you'd prefere abit of glory.

By this logic can I start supporting the German national team because Ireland will never win anything. It's disgusting in my opinion.

I agree, those who call people who won't be renewing plastic also need to get their heads out of the sand.

A lot of those not renewing have supported City for many a year and the majority like me can't justify paying to see parks football played by parks players.

The club has no ambition, RS players will prove that at least DJ got bargains and they were skilful.

When is the last time SKY showed any interest in showing a live game involving Cardiff City :? We have lost a fortune this season in money because of the lack of live TV games and this has nothing to do with Re-brand or glory hunting fans it's, in my opinion, solely down to the boring, sterile and unimaginative football served up by Russell Slade.

The lack of ST sales is also leaving the club short of £m's in available cash and, in my opinion, is a salutary lesson for VT in how NOT to treat the fanbase of a football club. The chickens are well and truely coming home to roost for him and the damage he has caused, both on and off the field, well he only has himself to blame.

The Club is trying to balance the books. VT has been pumping in millions and fans then moan about the debt. So in order to address this we have to live within our means, which translates into a smaller squad earning more reasonable and realistic wages. Inevitably this will be a time of transition and results will be affected.

Fans were happy to turn up in numbers when we were throwing money around and competing at the top of the championship and a brief visit to the PL. Now within a matter of months thousands of fans are turning their backs on the Club when we are needed the most. Excuse after excuse. Football can be cyclical yet we just give up, leading to less revenue, less quality on the pitch, poorer results. Stay away fans will then sit back in their houses on a Saturday afternoon and say to themselves "see I was right not to go"' without any thought that they are part of the reason why.

The hardcore apart, fans get the Club they deserve.

Can not agree more. No excuse if your a fan your a fan if you love a club that love is unconditional. My sympathy is with the fans that stay that go to every game. Vincent Tan is not cardiff city football club. Staying away is not hurting him as he will still be an extremely rich man but our club could well be fatally hurt.

I feel ST holders don't have the benefits that it use to be. We not saving a huge amount compared to match prices and we can only by £10 tickets for other people. So I believe ST should be more looked after.

I'll keep going for the time being as I have every season since 1967. However, I can understand why plenty of people are not prepared to waste hard earned cash on the sort of rubbish that has been served up week after week this season. It's not just our club, nearly every club is exactly the same. A winning team playing attractive football is always going to attract more paying customers than a struggling team showing little ambition.
Gates will be low next season as it becomes more obvious that the current owner is trying to get as much of his investment back as possible before he bails out. We will struggle to stay in the Championship next season, but for a lot of us we have been there before, and will carry on following the team regardless. I have said many times that this club has only ever had a hardcore support of around 5,000, and in all my years of watching I have only ever seen home support get towards the 20,000 mark when the team has been towards the top of the table. I don't blame anyone who refuses to fork out their cash if they don't believe that their getting value for money, and in fact, I am probably the stupid one for continuing to squander my cash on sub standard entertainment.

The question is do you want self sustaining club or one perpetually in debt? Self sustaining means going back to basics regarding spending on players! Or one in debt which is not sustainable in long term? You as fans have bitterly complained about level of debt, now at last its being addressed you want perfection of high class players without paying high wages! Performances was always going to drop (what did you expect) This season was always going to be difficult when it became apparent that tan was going down route of osterity to balance books! Many clubs have had to do this when relegated and lots have never recovered, you as fans are not giving club any chance of getting it right.
Personally i think next season will be a good one as i see bigger picture than the postage stamp most on here see! :o

I admire your optimism, but weren't you still convinced we would make the play offs just a month or so back. Personally, I don't believe we have a chance of being in the promotion battle next season. I don't disagree with you concerning long term sustainability, but surely the dire football we have witnessed so far this season does not have to be a condition for reducing our debts. There are other teams in this division with less talented players than we have, but are still able to play entertaining and winning football.

no was a bit longer than that! The football is result of player changes plus new manager very thew clubs do both at same time? And the result is going to be depremental to teams performances for a while, despite what people say on here it as improved bmouth just beat borough 3-0, i base optimism on what i have seen and on many years of watching football? I do not understand people dismissing next season when there is transfer window which is a lot different to last one in terms of players available!
ps i go to watch football good or bad yes frustrating at times but in 44yrs its never been any different either with city or wales! :o
