Vicious circle - wake up!

Fri Mar 20, 2015 11:53 pm

There's been no end of excuses on here why many aren't going to renew their ST, most of which boil down to so called fans basically only wanting to watch us when we are competing at the top of the league.

If the figures ares to be believed we've sold approx 1,000 with a couple of weeks to go. This would mark a significant drop in revenue to the Club which means they have to react. Players will have to be sold / loaned out, which may explain why Connolly has gone. This then leads to more whinging and more excuses not to renew. And so the vicious circle continues.

How fans expect us to keep a competitive squad together when they aren't prepared to support the Club is beyond me. Or should Tan simply continue to plough in millions only to be reviled by many?

Our fans need a huge realty check.

St sales are worth £6m to the club.
If they drop by half which is looking possible then that's £3m off the budget and that's 6 decent Championship players wages or 3 stars.

Also why should Tan subsidise us if we only turn up when we are successful.

It's not that we are going down, we've still got a reasonable squad who are starting to improve as well.

God help us if we go the way of Coventry, Blackpool or Pompey

I've been going since 1967 so I'm no good time Charlie. Yet apathy has set in this season which I think is understandable. A couple of days ago on the very same day I received a renewal form saying we're all in this together, a first team player is farmed out and I'm told I may lose 15 hrs a week at work. Is it worth 40 quid a month? What would you do?

Can spend that on one nights drinking! I spend more than that just to get to games in month!! I will be there next season, OP is correct complain about cost cutting ect but fans are contributing to it by their lame excuses for not renuing.

They do in the championship especially if you haven't been promoted and relegated from the premier and in receipt of parachute payements.
The running costs of cardiff were around £1 million a month before we got promoted to the premier so season ticket sales are vital.

How about the club providing some good football to entice the fans - apart from the odd season, we've been shit for years, and this season is probably the worst since the late 80's....if you can't sell seats, the management should be asking why.

Hard core can mean different things - some people come away from these games convinced we're a good team.
