THE PR AT OUR CLUB IS ABYSMAL

Fri Mar 20, 2015 5:30 pm

Yesterday I get a virtual begging letter off the club asking me to renew my season ticket as the good times are just around the corner...on the same day they loan out one of our first team regulars to help another club get promoted...

What incentive is that to me to renew????

Had mine today too, The cheek of 'Bluebirds for life', desperate or what? I don't think I will be renewing next year simply because this year has not been enjoyable.

Anyone thought this forum had the only fans the club relate to! Maybe they are appealing to the many thousands of fans on data base? Or should they say hello fans we are a crap club we are selling our best players but never mind come and buy a season ticket for fun!! :laughing5:

Back in Blue now so if you support City, you shouldn't need any incentive other than that

At least that would be honest. :laughing6: :laughing6:

And more accurate than the "Our desire to return to the top flight remains" bollocks.

So you believe club as no wish or desire to return to premier? How pathetic all clubs want it especially in championship!

I've been going for almost 50 years and been a season ticket holder for many of those years - and my letter was addressed to 'Cardiff City Supporter' - the wankers haven't got a clue!

The club desperately need to improve their PR
At the moment it would be kind to call it shambolic.
I fear for next season, they really need to sit down and formulate a plan.
Strong leadership and vision is needed before it is to late.

I don't choose to renew based on who plays for us. I renew because I'm a loyal Cardiff City supporter.

I'll be renewing because I'm not a glory hunter.

I renewed on the first day they went on sale because, like you, I have never been a glory hunter.

The clubs marketing could be improved in the mailshot and eshot sections but can't see why anybody would have to rely on the clubs marketing to incentivise renewing their season ticket, just renew and support the boys :laughing6:

Said it before, we have 2 types of supporter the fan and the customer and our customers only want to see a team doing well. Winning games at the top of the championship or playing premier league football. Both me and my son have renewed :bluescarf:

I'm a fan and I also only want to see my team doing well! Not renewing a season ticket is no measure of how much of a fan you are - I've been watching City through thick (not too many of those times!) and thin but for most of my 40-odd years I never bought a season ticket - I never needed to! Next season I won't need to either but I'll still go watch and support my team as loyally as those who buy season tickets....

Personally I thought it was a good letter. They have reverted us back to blue, given us a badge with a prominent bluebird like we wanted (I would prefer our proper badge but i can live with the oriental dragon one though) They talk about re-engaging with the fans which can only be a good thing. I genuinely think they are trying to build bridges and make us successful again. I've seen some terrible football this year but I'll be renewing. You either support your club or just support when things are going well. We've been in much worse shape in years gone by. I'll be there regardless! :bluescarf:

I don't understand this often used statement, "I'll be renewing and supporting my team next season" thereby implying that those who choose not to renew are not supporters?
As I've said previously, I, and many thousands like me won't be renewing but will still go and watch the games we can get to. I'm no less of a fan because of that.

In what way exactly are the club showing themselves to be genuine about returning to the top flight?

Have they brought in a manager with experience of this division and who knows what it takes to get a team promoted to the Premier League?

Are we playing the type of fast flowing, attacking possession football that has seen the likes of Bournemouth heading towards the Premier League?

Or is it all about cutting costs, trying to stay in the Championship by the skin of the teeth if need be, recouping money by selling or loanng out anythbody who has any value, and praying with fingers crossed that somehow, by some miracle, Slade manages to win promotion?

What ambition are the club currently showing - can you answer that for me please. Do you honestly believe that they are doing everything they can to get promoted?

exactly, renewing has nothing to do with PR like the OP states.

the PR team have a difficult job when they have a vindictive person like tan calling the shots.
