The athletics stadium only holds 2-3thousand doesn't it? Way to small, even for us with the drop in crowds. Even if we dropped down a division or 2, it would still be to small. Cardiff has a hardcore of around 10-15thousand fans maybe, and If we do well next season which is possible, then the attendances will soon rise. It only takes a sniff of a decent season which has been proven in previous seasons at the CCS. And don't forget, Wales have just about made the CCS their permanent home now. Wales seem settled. The city of Cardiff needs a mid sized stadium like ours. To go along side the millstad which is only good for the bigger events

CCS is a modern, purpose-built stadium with conference facilities and has just been extended. Why the hell would CCFC move out? There are plenty of fans still attending and if the prospects improve, it will be more full each game. The purchase of the Athletics ground could just be a sound investment for staging sports or musical events of a more modest size. Makes sense to have Millenium Stadium, CCS and Athletics Stadium to cater for a range of activities.

And just use 3 or even 2 sides of the stadium. We don't have to pay rent on the stadium do we? We own it. He can't knock it down, and sell the land, because the land can only be used for sport as Allan mentioned. It has something like a 99year stamp on it. Would probably cost him more to kit the athletics stadium out and make it fit for purpose to hold a professional football club, and I doubt the athletics club would be happy about it. Even if tan does buy it for our youth setup. Its main purpose will still have to be for athletics. It was a big part of the agreement in order for us to get our new stadium. We had to build a new athletics track if I remember right

They will also be installing a 3g pitch which we cant use in the championship so I wouldnt worry too much!

CITY ARE NOT BUYING IT! Cardiff Council are disposing of many of its properties to other organisations working in the community under what is called Community Asset Transfer mostly on a lease basis because they are losing the council pot fulls of cash. Cardiff city are taking this over and they would have to adhere to conditions set down by the council in regard to use by other community organisations.
It is likely that they will use it for their reserve games and other users such as the athletics etc

So, we are not buying it, we cannot play competitive games on a 3g pitch, we cannot knock down CCS and sell the land for housing......

It is not Cardiff City proposing to take it over. It is House of Sport Limited which is jointly owned by Steve Borley and Vincent Tan in their personal capacities

No as the land can only be used for Sport activities it's to stop things like property developers buying clubs and then getting rid of stadiums for housing etc (much like Sam Hamman did at Wimbledon)

No as the land can only be used for Sport activities it's to stop things like property developers buying clubs and then getting rid of stadiums for housing etc (much like Sam Hamman did at Wimbledon)
