Its the timing of the move I cant understand.....

Thu Mar 19, 2015 8:39 pm

I understand that all players are available to transfer/loan offers we are attempting to balance the books, but why now? just as the club has turned a corner results wise? Is it because the club now considers itself safe from relegation and therefore feels it a good time to start offloading assets?

Just as the fans start to feel a tiny bit upbeat, a renewal reminder falls on the doormat this morning, very shrewd i thought....but now this.

I think people are right, poor Slade may have just started to win the fans over slightly, but the time to regime finish the hatchet job on the clubs assets the bloke wont know whether he is coming or going.

Its going to be a difficult season next season, I think i remember Castleblue (who talks alot of sense) saying that next season would be even worse than this one, I think todays loan move could be the start of that.

Lets hope im overthinking the whole thing and Connolly demanded a move for personal reasons :?

Onwards and upwa........meh forget it.

Initially I thought that's odd, but when I thought about it logically am not sure what the big deal is. I personally think you've cooked your head with that one gavlar! Be it a loan for personal reasons or other reasons it does highlight our fans waiting to pounce. As for asset stripping, we didn't do that in man just replaced players with better value players.

i just dont think there is adequate cover at the back, and they have choosen to let a reliable utility defender to leave, just like that. Stinks

Football decision then yes I agree but football is also a business, I don't agree with by the way just don't think it's a big deal :bluescarf:

I guess we will see how big a deal it is Saturday, Fabio at RB, Malone at LB, I just hope we aren't forced to make a change with only Gabbidon in reserve.

I don't think he has played CB since ole when he was excellent. We have loads fullbacks, we are adrift in mistake.
Would anyone not renew season ticket because of this? If so they are just looking for an excuse.

Good cut costing from the club.

Luke, I didn't mean to imply I would not renew because of this, I was trying for the one step forward two steps back angle.

I'm normally Mr positivity, this has dampened my morale though for some reason.

When you total up the saved wages and the loan fee, we're talking about 300k. What's more valuable: Matt Connolly for 8 games or 300k in the bank? What exactly are we playing for at this point in the season?

Oh I didn't mean you mate.

I just think the club have seen an chance to save some money, maybe nearly 200k in wages and we ain't going anywhere.

Nowrich didn't leave themselves with 3 center backs one of which being 36 and played about five minutes all season

Perhaps there's a deal in the offing if Watford are promoted?

Don't think you are overthinkong at all I've been banging on about this for ages and it's why I'm not giving slade a hard time over results because it's gonna get harder

He's gonna need to be at his wheeler dealer best next year just to keep us in this division if the severity of the summer transfer window is what I think it will be

I don't see many of these here in the summer

Marshall
Manga
Fabio
Jones
Noone
Gunnarson
macheda (anyone surprised we are safe nows he's back in the squad hmmmm)
Connoly
Morrison
whitts

If even half those leave it's another rebuild job

I expect at least 6/7 to leave off that list

Looks like I didn't over think it then, loaned out because we appear to be safe.

Malone can play centre half and has done many times, as for Saturday Fabio will be left back and Peltier right back with Malone on the bench, along with gabbs, so plenty of cover there
