Rhys Healey has been recalled by Cardiff City.

The loanee has been with the U's since September last year, but returns to South Wales after being called back by boss Russell Slade.

He made nineteen appearances in his time in north Essex, and hit the net on four occasions.

U's boss Tony Humes told the pre-match press conference on Thursday: "It's disappointing that we've lost Rhys.

"It only happened this morning and it's a shame because he'd just got back into the starting line-up.

"We've been really pleased with his contribution to our cause over the past months and wish him well back at Cardiff."

That to me says slade wants to see how good he is and if ready for championship next year which also says jones out and probably MACHEDA out also

I expect they want yo see if he can cut it in the Championship, now is the time, 8 games, we not going down or up so time to play some of the youngsters , before decisions made on their futures in the summer.

Club want to clear out all the playing staff that they can, so they can blood all the youngsters next season, if this means two relegation a to League two and even beyond (ala Wrexham) then so be it, this is the policy from now on going forward

Tommy O'Sullivan should be getting some game time then next year. Hope his loan at Port Vale goes well.
