A Kenwyne Jones/Alex Revell link can make an impact

By Terry Phillips

The Bluebirds went for the big man combo in attack - and they gave Bournemouth an uncomfortable time. There is work to be done if that pairing is going to have a long-term future, but there were promising signs.

When Bournemouth defenders saw City’s starting line-up they immediately knew it was going to be a bruising encounter. Jones is always a physical threat, while Revell is pretty big and gives everything for the cause. I love his enthusiasm and sheer relish to work for his team.

There is certainly improvement needed on their link up play and City weren’t as effective when the ball was played up to feet, but they gave Bournemouth defenders a torrid time. Bournemouth had far more of the ball - 66% possession - but Cardiff had more shots on target.

The Bluebirds hit six at goalkeeper Artur Boruc, while Bournemouth managed only two out of 21 efforts on target.

And one of those, by Harry Arter, was a fiercely driven shot high into the net from outside the penalty area.

Federico Macheda was missing because of his one match suspension, while Eoin Doyle took over from Jones after 87 minutes and almost scored.

Has someone hacked terry Phillips account at the echo.

One article he states, we must keep possession and blames the midfield !!! Now this where he wants us to lauch it from all angles into the two useless blunt instuments up front !!!!

I thought there was going to be be a U tube clip of a play where they actually linked up !!!!

We need a poll- Who is more clueless Phillips or Slade

Phillips has been high on something the last few days some of his storys are embarrassing, revell worked hard Tuesday and run past that lazy fucker jones six times to try win the ball that Jones should be running for, revell even looked at him several times after running past him as if to say come on do a bit, Jones was total dire Tuesday imo all he can do is head a ball. I've seen my great grandfather move quicker for f**k sake.story's
