Cardiff City 1-1 Bournemouth

Tue Mar 17, 2015 10:47 pm

A rather spirited Cardiff City side managed to hold overachievers Bournemouth to a 1-1 draw at The CCS on Tuesday night.

It took 16 minutes for the promotion hopefuls to take the lead. A 25 yard strike from Harry Arter, who returned to the starting XI after suspension, gave Simon Moore no chance in the Cardiff goal.

Cardiff fought back well, despite Bournemouth having many a chance to kill the game. The equaliser came on 62 minutes. Peter Whittingham, who has been criticised in his recent performances, put in the perfect corner for Bruno Ecuele Manga who powered his header past the helpless Artur Boruc.

Another inspired defensive performance from The Bluebirds helped them salvage a point and gives Cardiff 4 points from a possible 6 against very prestigious teams. Many chances did fall to the much improved Alex Revell but the former Rotherham Utd man couldn’t convert.

Cardiff next welcome Birmingham City to The CCS and are hoping they can keep this form intact and have a strong finish to the season.
