For Alloa
Former Cardiff City striker Michael Chopra has signed for Championship side Alloa Athletic until the end of the season.
The club have agreed terms with the 31-year-old striker, who could make his debut against Rangers should the club receive international clearance.
"It's a move no-one would have expected us to make," Alloa's chairman Mike Mulraney told STV.
"We lost a good centre forward on Saturday and needed to add to the squad.
"We brought a head scout in who has been casting his net far and wide."
The forward was playing for Indian side Kerala Blasters but has now returned to the United Kingdom for regular football.
Chopra enjoyed his best years at Cardiff, making 94 appearances for the club over two separate stints.
He also played for Newcastle United, Ipswich Town and Blackpool before arriving at Recreation Park.

He's on the bench for Alloa tonight at Ibrox, could be a baptism of fire if he gets a chance.

Will never forget his goal against the jacks.
Made him a hero

Only 31!... if he'd not been such a piss head and lunatic he could well still be doing a job at championship level.

Apparently he has a bonus clause in his contract of a deep fried Mars bar for every goal he scores.

How much do you reckon he's on a week there?
Wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't much more than £500 a week

Bet he was on the coke and all sorts.
at 31 and to be unable to get regular football in India and a shocking last season
in the championship says to me his lifestyle has been awful for years.
Different class with his time here at cardiff I think he'll end up playing parks football in Newcastle by 34

Big news up here!! One of my mates lives in alloa so was asking me about him.
Amazing player in his prime but looks to have been dogged by a fair few issues over the years. Hopefully he has got himself sorted out and can get back playing. Will give him a round of applause at Easter road next month.
