When attacking, with enough pace there shouldn't be a team who would get near you. You should only have you're keeper, center half's and Defensive midfielder back. Pushing everyone else forward playing a then 2-1-4-1-2. But it's hard to take it from the training field to the playing field with the wrong players.

No tackling allowed any more - needs more skillful players on the pitch
Pitches except blackpool are like bowling lawns so no need to hoof it away from the mud
The best bits of grass are no longer the wings so hugging the touchline is no longer needed
Goalkeepers are more protected than Whales so being within 2 metres of them automatically results in a free kick - so no point getting to the byline and hooking a cross in and the big lad up front challenges for the ball
The game is about possession, speed, pace and mobility (plus acting) 442 doesn't give you any of this

We played 442 on saturday didn't do us much harm did it.
its that time in the season where admittedly we have been over the last 6/7 years where the pressure plays on the top sides and they slip up......Tue Mar 17, 2015 12:47 pm
