Brentford have shown Cardiff the way

By Terry Phillips

Sunday 15th March 2015

They develop kids and give them a chance. They don’t have big money, but have made sensible signings, added quality players including 21-year-old Alex Pritchard as a playmaker on loan from Spurs.

Brentford play some terrific football and are right in the mix for a play-off spot.

The Bees, as a club, don’t look ready for a Premier League adventure in terms of facilities and infrastructure, but they have built a promotion challenge.

Cardiff have the stadium and, in terms of their team, are building for the future.

The Bluebirds must keep building slowly, but surely. There is no quick fix to the situation they are in now.

The summer transfer window will be crucial. That’s when Cardiff will lay the foundations for a big push next season.

So exactly which players did Brentford field in that game yesterday that was developed through the youth system. Answer Terry is NONE.. In fact the only player who came through the youth ranks at either club was Joe Ralls.

So what exactly is your point Terry.
