:ayatollah: " Joe Ralls must be given a head start " :ayatollah:

It was good to see Ralls back, albeit as a 12th minute substitute for the injured Lee Peltier, who suffered a groin strain.

Ralls didn’t deserve to be left out after a five star performance at Rotherham, but found himself back among the substitutes. He went on for Aron Gunnarsson after half an hour against Charlton in midfield and operated at full-back at Brentford.

After a worrying first few seconds as Brentford swept down his side Ralls settled quickly and played with calmness, composure and intent.

Ralls was arguably man of the match and gave City a platform.,

The versatile and reliable Ralls simply must start against Bournemouth on Tuesday. Whether that is at full-back or in midfield is open to question.

But, for me, he’s a must in the starting line-up.

:ayatollah: ' Federico Macheda must mature as a footballer ' :ayatollah:

Macheda has scored in his last three Cardiff City appearances and his pass led to Alex Revell’s winner at Brentford. The 23-year-old Italian has an abundance of talent, but he must develop mental strength and consistency in his performances.

Macheda has fired eight goals in 14 starts for the Bluebirds, but he let himself down at Brentford when he was sent-off.

He was booked for his petulant manner when he swung an arm in the Brentford penalty area. It was far from a terrible incident, but it was unnecessary.

Macheda almost saw yellow for a second time after 84 minutes and referee Andy Davies lost patience soon after another foul. The Bluebirds forward pulled his shirt over his head as he strode off the pitch.

The former Manchester United striker is a quality footballer and he could be even better with a little more maturity in his performances. He’s young and learning fast.

I think Terry must have gone to Bradford instead of Brentford.

At least he showed a bit of desire and fight. Just a bit too much  hope it doesn't affect him too much :bluescarf:

Manga is currently the 3rd highest rated player in the Championship, only Simon Francis (Bournemouth) and Christophe Berra (Ipswich) are rated higher and the difference is very little.

I have no idea what Terry Phillips thinks this man should do or what represents consistency in his book, but one thing is certain and that is in Bruno Manga we have an absolute gem and a player with every chance of being the overall highest rated player in the Championship.

When is the last time that happened.

Agree with him Joe Ralls must start, just not at full back. He, Gunnar and Adeyemi in midfield would beef up our midfield no end

He was decent on the ball but got beat too easily, he's not a left back though

Another cock up by our management on Saturday. I feared the worst when Ralls came on and Slade moved Fabio to right back to accomodate him.

Their winger went past Ralls a shedload of times and they could easily have been out of sight before Macheda scored.

Ralls defo ain't no left back and I just can't figure out why the club let Declan John go out on loan.

Before Fabio came back in on Saturday we haven't had a proper set of full back for quite some time.

Seems strange when we had a left back that slade signed on the bench.
