Will Cardiff Devils Ice Hockey take fans away from CCFC?

I must confess I have starting going down to the big blue tent in Bay to watch the Ice Hockey.

Given that their new stadium will be ready for next Season, they are winning team (having won the Challenge Cup on the weekend) plus they have an amazing atmosphere during games I wouldnt be surprise if a number of City fans decide to spend their hard earned wages watching Ice Hockey as opposed to the Cardiff City?

Thoughts...

Nope not my thing if i was going to do something like that i might as well just go and support Cardiff blues.

It wouldn't be too much is stretch for fans to feel at home.

Challenge Cup winners one week, stuffed 11-0 the following week.

Absolutley superb owners with plenty of cash, who know the game inside out and know what they are talking about, excelent support, that blue tent is nearly always packed out. They just won the cup, and are looking good in the league. a brand new state of the art arena being built down the bay for them. I can see the devils dominating ice hokey in this country in the near future. They realy are on the up. I remember going to watch them when they were in town years ago when they were a very good team. Theyve had a barron spell, but fairplay to the hardcore fans who stood by them, its paying off now. Think i might start taking the kids down when they move into the new arena

I used to go to games in the 80's when Shannon Hope, Doug McEwen, the Cooper brothers and Steve Moria were around together with John Lawless. Used to take in both sports. However bad the football it has to be football for me. Having experienced the atmosphere of both, they are different types of supporters who follow their teams. Many supporters have followed the City since the old 4th division days and even before that. Clubs will have ups and downs.Owners will come and go. Just look at Portsmouth. One minute they are Fa Cup winners, next minute they are plying their trade in the 2nd division. Things will never be the same but have faith our day will come again.

Very much a supporter of both, Todd Kelman is a great GM and both him and the owners constantly interact with supporters.

Been a wonderful season regardless of last nights result, still in with a very good chance of winning at least 1 more trophy... massive turn around from not even making the play offs last years

City could learn a thing or 2 off the Devils owners

Agreed . Except for the Blues. How many Cardiff RFC fans have you ever known who like to see the City winning ? I haven't come across one yet in the many years I have lived here.

Only football, and Cardiff City for me, but good luck to the ice hockey and cricket. Hate the egg, though.

Amazing atmosphere where everyone sings and chants... old, young, men, women. No shithead stewards, take yu drink to yu seat, a team of players that do give a f**k, managers that know how to manage, owners that respect the history of the team, reasonably priced tickets and are going to be cheaper in the new arena. All in all a great nights entertainment.
Support both City and Devils but in all honesty most of the entertainment atm is down the bay.

Was impressed to see they took 1,000 to Sheffield for that game. We didn't take many more than that to Sheff Wed in our promotion season.

I watch both but next year will be a devils season ticket for me, not the city. Cardiff city would do well to learn a few things from the devils i know city are a much bigger organisation but they interact with their fans so much better and i never feel bored to death at a game like i have down the city at times this season. The huge difference for me is the passion that the players show for the club bear in mind some of them have only been there for 8 months. Andrew lord the devils player coach was close to tears hugging and kissing the badge on sunday and after the 11 0 defeat on wednesday came out and apologises straight away for the performance, took responsibility and promised to do something about it.

You can hear the atmosphere from the tent in Penarth during every home game and sounds great tbh
