Crystal Palace U21s 4-0 Cardiff U21s –
Wed 11th March 2015
Away from the first-team picture, Crystal Palace’s development squad took on Cardiff City at Tooting & Mitcham’s ground on Monday afternoon, with the final result reflecting a dominant performance for Gary Issott’s men.
It took just three minutes for Palace to take the lead, when Kyle De Silva nodded home and inswinging corner from Reise Allassani, setting the tone for a game in which we proved to be dominant from beginning to end.
Shortly after, Appiah made it 2-0, when the ball found his way to him unmarked in the penalty area, allowing the Ghanaian international to fire low and hard across the face of goal.
Just moments after, Jake Gray added a third for Palace, after good work from Hiram Boateng and Allassani once more saw him receive the ball at the back post, before he fired a low shot into the net.
Shortly after the interval, Palace were given a penalty, after Appiah was fouled, providing De Silva with the chance to double his tally from 12 yards, which he duly took.
The remainder of the game passed with little incident, to round off what was an impressively comfortable win for the boys in red and blue.
