SEASON TICKET HOLDERS NOT RENEWING COULD BE THE BEST THING..

Tue Mar 10, 2015 5:19 pm

to happen to this club for a long time, that may sound like a crazy statement on the face of it, but when you think about it, one of the biggest problems since we got to the CCS was the fact that the atmosphere has been absolute crap. One of the main reasons being that like minded souls could not all be together in one area. Most from the old Ninian Park block A and the more lively sections of the Bob bank were scattered all over, when we moved grounds. I'm sure most of those older supporters from those areas who loved to create an atmosphere at Ninian park moved to the Ninian stand, but because of the huge demand for season tickets, were distributed in small pockets amongst supporters who like their atmosphere on a less vociferous level! Quickly, any attempt to create an atmosphere was met with contempt from many around them, which has killed the atmosphere altogether.
Well for me, this is now an opportunity to get those like minded souls back together in one area. Ninian 116/117 is the most obvious area, next to the away support, where the rivalry creates the noise. Even if we had 300, who want to sing and cheer the team on together in that area, it would improve the whole match day experience for us all. We all know, how good the old block A was, with those sort of numbers. If you all feel the same way, then why not get together and make a concerted effort to renew in that area, starting from the back down. Once the renewal date ends, we will all see online the exact availability in that area. We should not be asking the club for singing sections, we should just be doing this for ourselves. Before long and once the word gets around, like minded supporters will come and join us on a match by match basis, some will even swap their current season ticket seats, when the season gets under way. This is the only way we get our singing sections back and restoring some sort of atmosphere. :bluescarf:

Or swap the Canton and Grange Stands. Relocate the Family Stand to the Canton and make The Grange Stand our standing and singing section, right next to the away fans so our fans can compete and nullify the noise the visitors make. Give me one valid reason why this cannot be done. The atmosphere would dramatically improve and I see no reason why this can't be put in place for next season. :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf: :bluescarf:

having 3,000 like-minded souls in a section of the 35k stadia, and no-one else, the acoustics will be fantastic, might even get an echo

While that's the best option it's out of our control, all moving to a designated area as stipulated in the OP is a great idea. I am in and would relocate from canton

I've already decided to move to Ninian 116/117 from Canton 106.

Went in there for the Wolves game :thumbright:

Fantastic post. People moaning that the club is not helping and they need to move ends. True but we have to sort this out ourselves. If the club helps great but we need to do something ourselves. All it takes is a little organizing from one of the lads. Annis/Vince. It's quite straightforward. The banter between home and away fans really gets the atmosphere going. It can't happen from the canton though. It's to far away for banter.

Not many takers on this idea. Maybe a lot of people can't be arsed anymore.

Great idea  . The atmosphere last season in 117 was pretty good tbh. This season however its been flat. Due to a number of reasons including the over zealous stewarding last year and a lot of the regulars moving to the new stand.

Reasons cant be done swapping ends, 1st stadium designed to keep fans apart! Why would they change it ? 2nd it would mean both sets fans having to mix before can enter stadium! So recipe for any idiot not a city fan to cause trouble not to mention away and home fans! Wont take much to start something!? Cost of policing game's and any trouble will rebound on away games for our fans ect ect

Ok no swapping ends then so we will all have to move to 117 then. Let's gets this done. They can tell us to sit down but they can't stop the banter/singing. You can't have banter in the canton. It's too far away.

We couldn't do this when we moved stadiums because everyone wanted season tickets, we sold 19000, now things have changed, Annis had 600 names for 116/117 and the club said we could not have it, as they were shitting themselves over hooligan issues and they knew the seats would be sold anyway, NOW things have changed, we are now back in control of our own destiny to some extent. It needs someone like Annis to coordinate this, as he has the contacts, let's get this going and get some control over how and who we watch the game with for next season. We have our identity back, now let's get our passion back  :bluescarf:

We've seen what fan power can do when it comes to our identity, this needs to happen and everyone knows it.

Never happen in a million years. From what I read on here stewards in the ninian stand are telling fans not to look at away supporters

I'm in the Ninian 116/117 and have never seen that happen, some supporters will gesture at the away supporters and when told to stop by stewards will swear they they are just looking over at them
But this is why we need to claim back that section with numbers. It's an organic thing, the more we have in there, the more difficult it becomes for the stewards to enforce every little thing. If supporters are serious and passionate about the atmosphere at the ground then with a little cooperation between ourselves we can do this, supporters not renewing season tickets has given us an opportunity, we should not miss

To be honest, what the stewards do at the moment, is they tell us to sit down, whilst saying in the next breath that as soon as they have left, just stand up again. They are just going through the motions and following instructions, they see it as just as pointless as the fans
However, what happens now is that you have many fans in there around you who also want to just sit there like passive dummies, politely clapping  My guess is though, that those types of supporters would happily move seats further along the Ninian into sections 115/114/113 now that those areas will come vacant
