Undoubtedly now the fans will revert back to the 'Slade out' posts rather than discussing and 'trying' to enjoy the on field issues.
Is anyone actually surprised we are struggling in the league? Slade has been brought in to do a very unsavoury job, rid the club of its Premier League hangover, shift the high earners off the books and build a low cost team that can still remain Championship safe. It's can't be an easy task, trying to motivate players who are having their contracts run down.
No 'big name manager' in his right mind would have taken the job Slade took with the remit that Tan must have given him, but Slade took it for a shot at Championship management and the 'big time' after years of lower league management. If he keeps us in the Championship and continues the cost cutting and bringing in semi decent young players, he has done his job under difficult circumstances and it will do his CV no harm.
I am fairly sure that once the club has been brought back on track financially and the wage budget back to a sensible level, as well as the fans now being appeased in regards to the club's traditions we will again become an attractive prospect for a promising or established manager.
So let's move on together, close the divide between the fans and get behind the team, as well as building bridges with the club and regime once more.
