' New badge and Fans survey '

Today the new badge will be revealed; no doubt it will bring with it many different viewpoints. It was designed to emphasise the club name, the city of Cardiff and the Bluebird but it also had to have a dragon, this was something Vincent Tan would not concede on and he wanted it to represent his part of the world. Having not seen the badge yet I am hopeful that it will be a good badge.

The club are also going to produce the results of their recent survey in which over 1750 verified season ticket holders took part in, it is quite interesting and will be used to improve things.
One thing the club wants to do is to reengage with the supporters and they want more people to become involved in coming up with ideas about all sorts of things that affect us, they want to hear from new voices and people who have said they would like to get involved with things will be contacted.

Things like match atmosphere, match day entertainment, half time entertainment, ticket prices, food and drink prices and menus, season tickets, club shop etc etc…they are looking for more fan input and more news of this will become available very soon, this is all as a result of the survey which highlighted many things to the football club and they want to follow up on these issues.

The rebrand caused massive divisions and many fans now seem to be getting detached from the club after many years of commitment, the club are very aware of this and want to try to address the problems. It’s too late for some fans that will never have the same feeling for the club again, but it offers a fresh start to others who are getting disillusioned and a chance to get involved in things that matter to the fans.

I hope it works because I am fearful that next season will see a large drop in season ticket holders and poor crowds even though we are now back in Blue many still feel angry that the rebrand was allowed to happen and you can’t blame fans for that. The cost cutting and culling of players, the dire football we have seen in so many games this season has not helped either and we have no idea what sort of team we will have come August next season but it’s our club and we can either support it or walk away, hopefully the vast majority will still actively support the Bluebirds.

The return of the club badge is just another example of how erratic the club seems to be run, logically you would think that having taken such a huge and welcome decision to return a Bluebird to the badge then the club would take such a great opportunity to re-engage with supporters and have a vote on 3 designs, they could have all included Tans dragon, but it would at least felt like the supporters choice

I just hope the new badge had some time , thought and effort put into the design unlike the current one which was more or less copied from a Brains beer mat !!

Good to hear the fans survey will get acted on now but Im disappointed that less than 2,000 bothered to take part , surely more input would have shown the bosses down at CCFC that us fans are interested .

Corky, you say that the club is aware, & want to address the problems, we are obviously talking about next season, yes???

With the current dysfunctional management that we have, at all levels of the club, I'm not so sure.

At the end of the day, the bottom line is how well City perform on the pitch that will dictate how the fans will vote, & that scenario is not looking encouraging for next season, as things currently stand.
