' CONOR MCALENY '

My Opinion I have to agree :thumbright: :thumbright:

CONOR MCALENY AT LEAST BROUGHT A BIT OF FORWARD MOMENTUM

Slade’s signings so far seem to have been a bit hit and miss, with the Cardiff boss bringing in as many duds as he has players of genuine quality.

On the evidence so far Conor McAleny is firmly in the quality camp and his showing against Charlton was perhaps his best so far in a Cardiff shirt.

One of the big problems Cardiff have had this campaign has been turning defence into attack with any kind of pace or speed.

The squad as we know on the whole has been lacking pace since the start. McAleny is not explosive like that, but he looks to get a foot on the ball and bring it forward.

He has an eye for a dangerous pass too and a lot of what the Bluebirds did well against the Addicks, especially in the first-period, came through McAleny.

He looks a good acquisition by Slade the only problem being, of course, that he is merely on loan at Cardiff from Everton until the end of the campaign.

Why take him off - he took two players out every time marking him Then city were wide open when he went off Rotherham he Shawn for me and again yesterday only player with passion - kadeen Harris would be great with him - why has he also been dropped ----------------- They not got a clue on the bench IMO - we can clearly see all the problems not rocket science so why can't they get it right :bluescarf:

They both have to much flair.

That does not fit in with a rigid 442 formation. We need players who run for 90 minutes and give 120% and flair players don't do that :ayatollah:

McAleny got taken off because he had a calf strain. This is probably why Slade waited way too late before making the third sub as the first 2 subs were forced changes with injuries and Slade didn't want to have run out of subs if we had yet another injury.

I thought McAleny was quality yesterday. A talented footballer with great feet.

I would rest Whittingham and play Mickleby in centre midfield.
