SEAN MORRISON IS PERHAPS THE MOST OPTIMISTIC MAN IN THE WORLD

While everyone appreciates a positive outlook on a situation, Sean Morrison’s talk of a dramatic late play-off push by Cardiff ahead of this game was fanciful to say the least.

By the time he had fouled Charlton’s Simon Church to concede the penalty which led to his side losing, Morrison’s call to arms looked even more misplaced.

The Bluebirds are 18 points off the top six with 10 games left.

They are 15th, they will finish about 15th and after a deeply disappointing season that is just about where they deserve to finish.

That the Bluebirds were favourites for promotion at the start of the season seems absurd now.

They will not be next season that much is for sure and so they shouldn’t be.

Cardiff’s flirtation with the Premier League was brief and traumatic, the problem is you feel it could be an awfully long time before they ever get the chance to go back to the top-flight and try to put things right.

I think his comments were disrespectful to the fans. We are not all mugs Sean!
