Just when you think we could have put back to back wins together the manager shot himself in the foot with his team selection.

When a team has been on an awful run of results and start to look like turning a rather long corner and you have just won away from home, scoring three goals in the process, you would think that keeping the same eleven barring injuries would be the sensible option.

Everyone was wondering and many were hoping that Joe Ralls would keep his place in the team after an excellent display midweek, Matty Kennedy is another who can consider himself hard done by after finding himself on the subs bench.

Revell, may not be the best striker in the division or even at our club but his willing desire to work every ball offers us something up front that maybe Macheda and Jones wouldn't.

Had Slade kept the same team, apart from the injured David Marshall, then I believe he would have faced less criticism had we lost than he is facing after the changes he made.

Against a Charlton team, who frankly were awful and showed very little throughout most of the game, I don't think this one should have slipped from us, we were again looking to get forward but how many times did we test the goalie ?

The truth is we are struggling to create chances in front of goal and after the midweek win I would have thought we would try and build on the confidence the team gained by naming the same outfield players.

Kennedy and McAleny have been excellent on the wings and I was disappointed to see Noone brought back in, Kennedy offers more on the wing and it was a mistake in my opinion to put him on the bench.

Slade got it wrong today.

In my opinion Slade gets pretty much everything wrong, has from day 1, and isn't getting any better. Worst decision today was taking McAleny off but putting Revell on was only just behind.

But none of that matters really because I think we are safe even with just 44 points because there are 3 really bad teams in this League and none of them will better that points total.

I think season ticket sales, or rather the lack of them, will seal Russell Slade fate and NO sexy new club crest will get the ST sales anywhere near the level the club expects or needs. That, in my opinion, will see RS sent up the road.

It won't be long now before the season ends, Slade gets sacked, VT appoints another waste of space manager, we have another massive offload of players in the close season and most likely spend the whole of next season in the bottom 3 before getting relegated.

Well CB, not too sure if I totally agree with you.

We have Brentford and Bournemouth coming up. If there are 2 teams that could take us to the cleaners it will be these 2. If they do I doubt Slade will survive.

ST sales are going to be down whatever Tan does. The damage has been done. The return to blue was to stop a total collapse but that must be in question now.

Safe for now but I won't be putting any money on us turning it around for next season.

The pen i said strait away made meal but you do not defend like that when player is 15yds from goal facing away? It was witts going off that change game nothing else, anyone who says otherwise are doing so because we lost! We win no complaints

But why oh why change a winning team? The fool has opened himself up for criticism now, whilst had he not changed it and lost he might have been able to sway people over to his opinion. Hes a cretin.

Why today's team played better today than Tues if your report on Tues is to be believed? Also you play best team despite previous result? Thats what most managers do! Only stupid mistakes and Witt's going off for 5 mins cost us a game we were totally in command of for 80mins! Tues we had 15 mins rest game Rotherham was in control?

tuesday was poor keep this up slade and there will be less than 5000 season ticket holders next year

For me the game changer was not Whitts going of for a few minutes, but McAleny being subbed as he was the only threat all afternoon for us and from that moment on Charlton sensed there was no threat and got themselves back in the game. Our tactical genius of a manager was obviously watching another game again... As for their goals - haven't seen them again but the first one looked clearly offside and I thought the penalty was very harsh as Morrison looked to have obviously got the ball first and the Charlton player rolled over. You could always sense that ref was going to make a howler too after he stopped the game in the first half for treatment to their keeper after he was trod on by his own player and instead of a corner which was the correct decision, he gave a free kick to them.
