I have been selected for jury service and I was wondering do you get paid for doing it or do you just recieve money from your employer. It says a loss of up to £32 will be paid per day, in unsure on wether if my employer won't pay me will I receive the £32 or will it be what I earn in a day if lower than that amount

Depends on your employer.
In the place where I work I get paid by both!!
Then only after getting paid by the court I have to supply the amount the court pay and they then deduct it from wages

Most employers do not have to pay you and don't

I was going to be out of pocket being self employed so I luckily managed to defer the first then second time round I would have had major child are issues so got out of that as well, never been asked since. Not something I'm interested in doing.

If your Employer won't pay you, you may be able to claim for loss of earnings on your Contents insurance policy.

Just write back to them saying you cannot make it, I did that twice and never had to go!

I did it and was not out of pocket.. I got paid what I normally did from my employer and received travel allowance (bus fare)
I don't believe they are allowed to leave you with less than what u would normally earn
