Confirmed Declan John joins Barnsley on loan.

CardiffCity can confirm that @DeclanJohn7 has joined Barnsley FC​ on loan until the end of 2014/15, subject to international clearance.

Barnsley sign Jabo Ibehre and Declan John on loan

Barnsley have signed Colchester United striker Jabo Ibehre and Cardiff City defender Declan John on loan until the end of the season.
Ibehre, 32, played under Tykes boss Lee Johnson at Oldham earlier this season.

John, 19, has made 10 appearances for the Bluebirds this season, but has not featured since the 3-2 defeat by Norwich in January.
The pair could both make their debuts for the Tykes in Saturday's home League One match against Walsall.

Annis, I believe he started out as a winger but Malky decided he was not good enough and converted him to full back. IMO he is to light weightwait for a full back and gets drawn out of position, maybe a loan spell will benefit him.

Roy,but to division 3 ? Declan John is way above that division.

Surprised he's had to drop to League 1 after dealing with the likes of Theo Walcott, who couldn't get the better of John down the wing and only managed to score at the death when he went up front as a main striker. I thought John did well in the Premiership overall, getting thrown into a struggling team with no experience. I thought John would have learnt from that experience and really kicked on this season in the Championship.

But I can also understand why John isn't playing as he's still very lightweight, doesn't seem to like heading the ball and still needs to work on his defensive positioning. John will be guaranteed games at Barnsley as he is way too good for League 1 level and the experience will give him more games, build his confidence up and do him good.

Johnson will play him as a winger, he will score 10 goals and as many assists.

Slade will hail him as a super find and one worth playing

Good move for Declan. He needs to play every week and develop as a left back. With Kennedy, McAleny, Noone, Harris and Pilks we now have plenty of widemen. If he improves the defensive side of his game I hope he'll become our regular choice.

We will soon see how good he really is. If he as good as people on the is forum keep saying he is, he really will tear the league up for Barnsley. However I don't see him as a good as a player everyone does

I think it's to build him up and give him game time. Hopefully he will come back better and stronger similar to ralls

Loan spell somewhere like Barnsley is ideal.

He'll have a run of games and we'll see if he has what it takes.

Totally agree. Just disappointed. He has enthusiasm for the game and likes to get forward. Looks confident on the ball too...

Silly, we should be bringing him throw, for me he is a winger, but could of given him a run of games in both positions from now untill the end of the season

Absolute liability at left back, but maybe he could turn back into a solid winger. Either way, that development isn't going to happen at our place so better he goes off on loan - should've happened back in August to be honest.

If we sell him though, I'll be pissed.
