Fantasy Football - Play by Mail

Anyone remember doing this? I used to play it when I was in high school, probably around 1992-1993, In a mini league with the lads in my class.

I remember I used to pay them in 1st class stamps, a whole Week after you submitted your team to getting your results. I remember praying the postie would arrive before leaving for school.

Good times.

Yeah, my brother, dad and mate down the road did this. So class. My team at the time was called Cardiff Juniors because I was only about 10 years old doing it. Played with a rigid 4-4-2 and even though we started in Division 4 we climbed the leagues and ended up battling for Europe before the number of managers in the league became so low it was a bit pointless and Football Manager took over.

Great memories though. My team was made up of all my mates so I'd take the results into school and we'd all laugh about how different players performed. Soccer Supremos was the one I was involved in.

yeah did this as well. Used to love having the stuff through the post.


Didnt you used to have to ring other managers to sort out a transfer?

Loved this. Did Soccer Supremos. Managed St Johnstone as no Cardiff in the league. Had to call other managers for players transfers.
