They were two of the best strikers that we have ever had at the club and they were true Cardiff City legends, who gave their all for this club. I used to love watching these two play and watching them put the ball in the back of the net. How these two never got a chance to play in the top division I do not know, especially Stantona. He was quality, some of his goals he created out of nothing and all by himself. It seems just like yesterday when watching the two videos and I can remember every single goal. Priceless!! In my opinion there is only one other striker who belongs alongside Dale and Stant and that is Earnie. Three incredible goal scorers. If Blakey had of scored more he would have been up there with them too, however Blakey is not that far off them to be honest. Michael Chopra was another striker that could have been up there with them, but in my opinion he was too inconsistent. Some times he would score something like 8 goals in 3/4 games but then he wouldn't score in the next 8-10 games. Whereas Dale, Stant and Earnshaw would seem to score every single game.
Bloooooobirds.

Big Nev and his ample frame in goals for Torquay getting beat twice by Jason Fowler that day (around 2:06) had murder with my tape from that season as the VCR tried to eat it. Thinking of adding a John Williams/Kevin Nugent partnership video to compliment the Dale/Stant one. Temporarily had a Thorne/Earnshaw one but the powers that be (football league) took it down.

love those videos, that is the club I loved as a kid. Jason Fowler was the time when Cardiff could do no wrong in my eyes.
Not about money, about style and swagger, pride in the shirt, fans crazy about the club. Jason Fowler you're a City great to me and many others!

great vids - them days were mad, look at the percentage of fans that fall into the 'male 16-40 category' and that's why we were respected everywhere (well almost everywhere)

How I dream of a Mark Delaney crossing the ball for a super kev nugent type player to head home these days

Thanks for posting these videos. Not only have they brought back great memories, but they've reminded me what watching a Cardiff City football match used to feel like. The way I felt back then will probably be a feeling I will never get back. It isn't the same anymore.

What about Chris Pike? Same era as Dale and Stant plus he scored shed loads of goals too and was a Cardiff lad who was a fan to boot!

My pleasure, it's good to share, just wish the old video footage was a higher quality, had particular problems with a chewed tape for this one.
John Williams was very underrated. I don't really recall a season where I thought we'd score every time we had the ball; that is how I remember feeling this particular season. I think JW could've done a job the following season.

Jason Fowler possessed lovely vision but was weak as a kitten and couldn't tackle!
