like him or not..

Deserves some credit tonight

People were slating him before the game had even kicked off tonight and also slating macheda and revell but were 3-0 up away from home and it's down to slades tactics and starting 11!

Not his biggest fan but fair play deserves some credit tonight! Well done slade and the boys

Said on radio Wales that Noone and Kenwyne only fit for the bench as both were carrying knocks.

That's poppycock, if they're not fit, they don't make the bench and why bring Jones on for 5 minutes when you're winning 3-1 if he's not fit?

They didn't say they weren't fit. Said they were only fit for the bench in which case bringing Kenwyne on for 5 minutes wouldn't be a problem and would probably do him a bit of good.

It's still poppycock, Jones has played a lot of football of late, so him not getting onto the pitch for 90 minutes tonight, may well have done him more good!

If he was carrying any kind of knock, then what's the point in risking your top scorer for the last 5 minutes?

Agree! I turned against him for reasons everyone who has watched City this season knows about. However, if Slade manages to turn it round it would be a massive surprise and great for him after all he's been through the last few months, I can't imagine he has enjoyed 2015 up until now.

Good luck to him :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

That was more than enough! It was the biggest improvement that had been needed all season. The guy did get lucky; a referee forced his hand, but if he had sny nous he would have made this change as soon as he'd arrived here. Lets hope the guy learns his lesson fast!

too many people on here not man enough to admit they can be wrong about something.

Even when Slade has good matches like last night and when he first got here it's never his tactics and always luck...

Was a great match last night. great play and a great result. That's at least in part down to Slade and his approach. lucky would have been 1-0 not 3-1.

I wouldn't get too excited about last night mate, don't get me wrong it was a great result but we still didn't look like we had much idea or game plan throughout the game. We took our chances really well but the majority of the time we just look to help the ball on in the air coming from our centre backs, full backs and central midfielders. When the ball found it's way to the flanks we then looked dangerous but we rarely look to do it.

If we're going to play 4-4-2 (which Slade looks intent on doing) then we have to utilise our wide men better, we have some really good options in Kennedy, McAleny, Noone, Harris and Pilkington when he returns. If we get them on the ball more often then I'm sure we'll create a lot more chances which is surely the main reason for playing 2 up front.

Great result but against a shockingly poor team, they were hilarious at times. :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

We've been improving for a few games now. I just wish that the people who are ready to slate him for every bad performance could man up and admit it when he does a good job and gets us a great performance out of the boys (Though for me it was just a bonus not to have Witts on the pitch)

Hoping for more of the same against charlton on saturday

The reason we've been improving the last few games is because we were so shocking in the previous performances that we couldn't help but improve!

Also, is it just a coincidence that the "improvement " has only begun to take place now that Trollope is here?

Credit where it's due though - a good result last night if not a great performance.

I just wish that the people who are ready to praise him for every half decent performance could man up and admit when he does a shit job and gets a terrible performance out of the boys which has happened quite a lot this season.

I'm hoping for a bit more entertainment against Charlton on Saturday.

Yes we were shockingly poor before this upsurge in form and results, but to state that we could only improve is ridiculous, as we could just as easily have continued to struggle, much the same that Blackpool, Millwall and Wigan have been doing, so somebody has to take the credit for the improvement in fortunes and the improvement started before Trollope came on board!

The improvement started in January IMO, when Manga returned and when Slade managed to bring in a handful of new recruits, who in the main have pretty much all made a difference on the pitch.

If Trollope gets the praise for our wins at Wigan last week and at Rotherham last night, then he has to take the blame for our defeat to Wolves on Saturday, which you and lots of our fans have levelled at Slade!

I don't even think we played badly against wolves...

We had a slump after they scored and heads dropped but they brought them back up again and even when we were down to ten men we were battling well and had two or three cleared off the line

Against a team who have been scoring like Wolves recently, I thought we played well. It was a loss, sure BUT I still class it as part of our general improvement

There are plenty of ways we could have stayed the same or even got WORSE than we have been playing in the first half of the season. We were still up above the relegation zone and getting more draws than losses. It would have been quite easy for us to get worse and head down and lose every game and get stuck int he zone.

Since slade has got his own players in we have seen more cohesion, more balance and more vision. Our defence was the first to improve and we saw a big drop in goals conceded. now we've mored on (I think) to seeing midfield improvement which is really where we were getting outrun. Now we push forward.

The thing that bugs me is that the forums and facebook and all that for CCFC are MUCH quieter when we've played well and won a game. If our fans put as much energy and effort into supporting the team as they do into slating them and the manager we'd do a lot better as a team.

It's easy to sing when you're winning.

Bang on and it's pretty much what I've been saying for a while now, as up until January, Slade had to work with too large a group of players, the same group that in the main failed us under Ole and where the negativity around the club must have been really toxic, at least until the vastly over sized squad got trimmed!

People can argue all day long about whether we should have got rid of certain players or not, but I don't think many people can argue that the majority of the players that Slade brought in the the last window have had a positive impact and whilst Trollope may well have helped the team further, but these players were brought in by Slade and our momentum had changed before Trollope arrived on the scene! :ayatollah:
