Matter of opinion but be in blue most probably deducted 25pnts and called afc cardiff new Co and be in div 2? tax man does not do administration for companies! he only liquidates for non mayment of tax and as far as I'm aware we could not pay tax after 2 extensions for time to pay! And no sugar daddy sitting in courtroom waiting until zero hour to pay him! :o

I see where you are coming from, but we will never know if that investor would have emerged when things became imminent.

I am not a lover of Tan, but I do acknowledge his input and he can't have enjoyed the experience!! His main and almost only 2 "mistakes" were to rebrand and to fail to convert (at least a proportion) of the debt to equity.

Such a pity that these two actions have in the past, and still do, divide the fan base. :bluescarf:

a tenfold of debt accumulated under his guidance, very dangerous times

edit: alright then sixfold, don't want to open up the actual figure of debt can of worms :)

Where do you start? We would be united, we wouldn't owe him 134 million pounds plus 7 % interest and we might have got a tidy manager! I keep saying this ,but we need to move towards the Bundesliga model of 51% fan ownership. We have to stop looking to corrupt businessmen to bail us out.

Back where we was when he took over the championship, that's where we was and are back there again. Only 130million worse off and playing worse football than back then :laughing6:

I'd have rather have taken admin back then than tan come in he's sucked the life out of fans imo

Feck me, how how many HMRC winding up court appearances would you class as "Imminent" then?

I agree with your other comments btw, but define fecking Imminent!

Sorry obviously I leave most of my bills till later than many. Lol.

The poster above makes a great point about 51% fan ownership. It works amazingly well in Germany and ticket prices are also kept low as a result. Even the noisy neighbours down the road, for all their statements about fan voice, only own just over 20%. As they realised recently, that isn't enough if a wealthy investor comes sniffing around. They were up in arms about it!

I wish the club had just bitten the bullet at the time and rebuilt sensibly. With the local infrastructure of a big city, it could have been so different. It may take time, but that is the way forward if it can be achieved. Tan will need to leave of his own accord and set the club free before anything can be done and with that may come lower league status for a while, but so be it.

Well we can argue all day long about whether VT has been good for the club or not, or whether we would have been better going down a different road at the time, but as I see it, there was no other option at that time and no other sugar daddy on the horizon!

Now we find ourselves stuck with a very rich man, who divides a lot of opinion, but he's in the driving seat and unless he decides to sell up at a big loss to himself, I think he's going to be with us for the foreseeable future!

I don't get worked up so much as other fans about the debt to equity scenario, as the way I see it, it's not my debt and if it ever becomes viable to do so, I'd imagine he'd turn that debt to equity in any case!

No admin as tax man doesn't do anything other than wind companies up for non payment of tax! And we could not pay him after 2 extensions! So it was sugar daddy at zero hour! or ccfc new co in div 2 in blue!

Without Tan, and let's face it there were no other takers, we would have been buggered. Personally, I think Cardiff City would have become a modern day Bradford Park Avenue.

That is just not true.

HMRC as an unsecured creditor have no powers to block the appointment of an Administrator.

They may use their vote to try and block a CVA as an exit route out of Administration (the only route allowed by the football authorities) but , in the case of CCFC , would have been outvoted in that as well as only 75% of creditor value is required to approve a CVA.

I doubt very much if HMRC would have been supportive mind as Peter Ridsdale`s track record with them hardly gave him and therefore the club any credence

Thanks keith its kind of what I was saying we had 2 extensions I believe? So wasn't expecting much sympathy from hmrc so what would have been outcome if we didn't pay hmrc on the day? Curious :old:
