DID WHITTS DESERVE HIS RED CARD?
Yes. Peter Whittingham’s first foul was cynical, stopping a likely Wolves goal. Definite yellow card.
So too was the second one just eight minutes afterwards, Whittingham committed to the challenge and unable to pull out as the ball was moved quickly.
Whittingham isn’t the type of footballer you associate with red cards, so seeing him go off raised quite a few eyebrows inside the stadium.
But it was the right call by referee Robert Madley.
What a turnaround for Whittingahm, too. The last time Cardiff met Wolves at home in the Championship they won 3-1... and he struck a hat-trick.
Proof indeed of what a roller-coaster game football can be.
DOES SLADE NEED TO TINKER HIS TACTICS?
Yes. Don’t get too carried away by Cardiff’s gallant finish with 10 men. Wolves controlled the midfield for the most part and once again Russell Slade’s team were bettered in the possession stakes.
Wide men Craig Noone and Matthew Kennedy were not in the game enough in the first half, nor strikers Eion Doyle and Kenwyne Jones.
There is no point having two players up top if you’re being over-run in the midfield and thus are unable to get the ball up to them.
Slade is a firm advocate of 4-4-2, but 4-2-3-1 has to be the way to go as Cardiff move towards next season.
Cardiff need more legs, energy and possession of the football in the midfield.
WHERE DOES THE RESULT LEAVE CARDIFF?
Down two places in the Championship table to 15th... and still looking over their shoulders a little.
Tan is adamant Cardiff will finish in the play-offs, but they are 18 points off Norwich in sixth spot with just 12 games of the season to go.
Tan is to be admired for his optimism, but realistically Cardiff have no hope. None whatsoever.
Looking the other way, they are 10 points clear of Millwall who occupy the last relegation spot at present.
Luckily, Millwall, Wigan and Blackpool appear doomed. But Cardiff are likely to finish closer to the bottom than the top.

He also thinks Doyle will score loads of goals for us. Well he might do in League One when Slade eventually gets us there.
And he continues to employ Slade - probably the biggest proof that, like his manager, he hasn't got a clue.

When Wolves went one up, albeit against the run of play, who in their heart, let alone their head, believed that we were going to get anything out of the game?
