Owner Vincent Tan will be pleased with the reception he received but less satisfied with the football Cardiff served up. The highlights from another frustrating day

SO, HOW WAS VINCENT TAN RECEIVED?

It was the first visit by the Cardiff City owner of the Championship season and even though he recently returned the team to blue, Vincent Tan must have been a little pensive as to the reception he would receive from the home fans.

As it was, Tan needn’t have worried. He posed pitchside beforehand for photographs with fans, was warmly applauded and had a big beaming smile upon his face as he chatted away to the paying public at the front of the Grandstand.

He was, of course, sporting a blue Bluebirds kit underneath his dark suit.

Before kick-off, supporters in the Canton Stand began chanting ‘We’re Cardiff City, We’ll Always be Blue’, but the traditional singing of that one on 19 minutes and 27 seconds was far more muted than normal.

Everything considered, Tan will flown back to Malaysia pleased with what happened off the field of play at least, if not so enamoured by what he witnessed on it.

WHAT WOULD TAN HAVE MADE OF THE GAME ITSELF?

Not much, to be honest. The Bluebirds started brightly and finished strongly, despite being down to 10 men because of Peter Whittingham’s red-card.

But in between there was too much hit and hope, not enough creative guile. And the fact is it was another home defeat for Russell Slade’s team.

Tan boldly predicted beforehand he believed Slade’s men could still reach the play-offs and earn promotion to the Premier League, but on the evidence of this that’s little more than a pipe dream.

The main thing Tan would have noticed was how chalk and cheese this was in terms of standard compared to the last Cardiff game he saw, which was against Chelsea.

The best player on the field that particular day wasn’t one of Jose Mourinho’s superstars, but Mats Moller Daehli,

Oh for a player of that class in the blue of Cardiff today.

Why don't you credit the author of that piece instead of trying to pass it off as your own ? ?

Paul Abbandonato wrote it and you should acknowledge that !

Listen mate, since Annis has forgotten to link to the original article I will fix it for him now, its obvious that this is a Wales online article, and we link them to this forum daily, no need for the presumptuous accusations.

I can't see anyone who's tried to pass it off as their own?

As mentioned above, a lot of WalesOnline articles and other media are posted on here.
