Well done referee

Sat Feb 28, 2015 5:50 pm

Totally bottled it today!! Noone skinned the defender and got totally clattered it was a yellow card all day long but the reg bottled it once he realised it would mean a sending off. Whitts deserved to go but what infuriated fans was the ref bottling moments earlier just as we were coming in to the game

I thought we were pretty poor today but having said that, the standard pof refereeing in this division is worse than it was in the Premier League, and that really is saying something.

Most of the refs have been truly shit and some of the decisons today just defy belief, particularly the decision not to send off the Wolves full back fo that second foul on Noone.

In my opinion that is either blatant cheating or sheer, unbelievable incompetence.

Absolutely no excuse at all right in front of the ref. had to go simple as that. Sometimes decisions are hard to call, that was a simple one.

Spineless shithouse of a referee who allowed the Wolves defenders to get away with way, way to much including pulling Kenwynne Jones hair and well as our players shirts. Thier fullback had to go and failing to deal with that properly led to frustration in some of our players and that saw the RED mist descend on Whitts, of all players, and he got sent off as he deserved.

There was little between the teams today but the referee helped no end in sealing that victory for Wolves.

Cowards decision cost us the chance of a point ( or more) . We were the better side 10 v 11 and could have put more pressure on if we'd had the extra man we should have had .

Whittinghams tackle was out of frustration. He was speaking to the ref for ages after the Wolves foul and was clearly unhappy. If the ref makes the correct decision first time then Whitts doesn't make that challenge (shocking tackle by him though)

We were much better when we went down to 10 men and I thought the players deserved more than the boos at the end.

Boos were for the ref who was a disgrace. Players worked hard

Today's ref was a coward and a J.Arthur. And a cheat. Wolves, just about, deserved their win, but, who knows?

Re: Well done referee

The boos at the end we're definitely for the spineless ref.

I have never seen a drop ball where the referee orders away one of the players so that the drop can only go one way.
That can't be a proper law can it ?

The ref realised he had cocked up as no one was injured, so gave Wolves the ball.

Good shout I was wondering what that was all about???

Says it all that Kenny Jackett substituted the Wolves right back immediately after he got away without a second yellow.

My bad, wasn't happy hearing the boos, thought they was aimed at the players. Couldn't fault the commitment of the players which is all I ask for.

If the ref hadnt of bottled it , whitts may not of been in a position to make that tackle in the first place :bluescarf:

Looking back on this forum, you will find that almost every time we lose it is down to the referee. Sometimes you get the decisions, sometimes you don't. Same for every team, and every team that loses a game can find a poor decision somewhere during the 90 minutes. It is not poor refereeing that has put us in 15th position any more than good refereeing has put Derby at the top.

If you read my OP I am not blaming the referee for the outcome of the match, while I agree you have decisions which don't always go your way and contentious decisions that are difficult to see what happened in that moment, this was far from that and came die to the ref bottling it. Just like when Wayne Rooney kicked out last season. Disgrace.

Our last few defeats v Derby, Norwich, Brentford, Watford etc.., have had nothing to do with the ref and nobody has tried to blame him.

At Boro and yesterday bad decisions were definitely a factor in us not picking up points we otherwise deserved

For a opponent to be cautioned or sent off the referee has to determine whether the infringement is ,

Careless
Reckless or
Excessive.

Careless would warrant a free kick and nothing else .
Reckless would be a caution
Excessive force would mean a red card .

I am not a big fan of Madley but the foul on Noone by the full back was a free kick and not a caution as it was careless . Careless means 'where a player has shown a lack of attention or consideration when making his challenge or that he acted with precaution ' . That is the Law . Referees do make make the laws only to enforce them .

To call the official a cheat is out of order and shows a complete ignorance to the Laws of the Game .

don't mind you telling us what you know about the rules, but give your gob a rest ref - it's getting to be a right smart one chief

Re: Well done referee

Laws not rules .

I'm not going to apologise for stating facts rather than someone's opinion .

Re: Well done referee

Tue Mar 03, 2015 1:23 pm

Agree it was a ‘careless’ tackle, but it prevented Noone from being in an attacking position so should the yellow card not be awarded for that reason? Similarly a number of ‘careless’ tackles would lead to a yellow card on the totting up process.

Re: Well done referee

Tue Mar 03, 2015 1:32 pm

Under the Laws a careless foul only warrants a free kick . Under the ' totting up ' the player would be cautioned for 'Persistent Infringements ' .
