Kim Bo-kyung - Man Of The Match v Cardiff City
By Wigan Fans
28th Feb 2015
Kim Bo-kyung has been voted the Vital Latics man of the match for his all action, non-stop performance in Tuesday night's home defeat to Cardiff City.
The South Korea international is turning into a real crowd favourite and he has been one ray of sunshine amongst all the gloom of the past few games.
For the record the voting was:
Kim Bo-kyung - 73%
Emmerson Boyce - 5%
Harry Maguire - 5%

Always rated Kimbo. Will never forget his performance against Man City. Ji Sung-Park never passed on the no. 7 shirt to him for nothing! He played so well either in centre defensive midfielder or centre attacking midfielder. Why Russell Slade put him out on the wing this season I will never know. Always had that bit of skill to get the crowd excited too. Perhaps his wages were too high. Shame he's gone, he's certainly too good for Wigan at this present moment.
Wish him all the best, Kim Bo-Kyung my Lord.

Kim's position is just behind the striker, picking the ball up, spraying the ball out to the wings and driving at defenders. Kim has that bit of skill and burst of acceleration to beat players in tight areas to open defences up. On the wing, Kim was restricted and couldn't play his natural game, as he had to do more defensive work. I think Kim is also a confidence player and when it's not coming off for him, he's scared to try things. The confidence was sucked out of Kim with us but now he's joined Wigan, Malky has given Kim the belief he previously had with us to play his natural game again.

Kim didn't progress how I thought after the Man City game. Still too good for Wigan but doesn't suit a 4-4-2 that we play

Will never fit into a 4-4-2 will do well if used properly.
