" I've lost respect for him as a man "

Malky Mackay is back on the agenda as Cardiff City face Wigan tomorrow night.

But I don’t expect he’ll enjoy the rip-roaring reaction from the visiting fans that he did at Anfield in December 2013.

A lot has been revealed since then and a lot of fans feel duped by the events of that day.

For me, I struggle to respect what he did for Cardiff City now because I’ve lost respect for him as a man.

When I think about Malky I judge him as a man first and for his achievements at Cardiff City a very distant second.

All I see tomorrow night is a chance to be 100% ruthless and widen the gap further between the Bluebirds and his struggling side.

Never mind the fact that they’re facing Malky or even Wigan, the most important thing for the boys in that dressing room is coming home with a win.

If I was playing, I wouldn’t be looking for any friendly vibes before the game, I would be determined to put a struggling team to the sword.

Even if I was friends with Malky, I wouldn’t want to set eyes on him until after the match.

As for Russell Slade’s team, it’s good to see them picking up another point.

They’re hardly playing like Arsenal but they’ve stopped conceding goals.

Bruno Manga handled Rudy Gestede really well in the Blackburn game and young Matt Kennedy impressed me by playing with a freedom that you just don’t get from senior players.

On that note, I feel sorry for Craig Noone, who seems to be playing with the weight of the world on his shoulders on the other wing.

Hopefully he can get a few good performances under his belt soon and start to relax.

It looks as though Slade is starting to settle on his preferred XI and Noone looks to be in that and only once the Bluebirds have pulled clear of the relegation scrap will the manager risk experimenting again.

Russell listened to a lot of what has been said to him and now he has to be tough and do things his way, remembering that you can’t please everybody.

Three points at Wigan will end any hopes they have of catching Cardiff and will mean only Millwall are a threat in the bottom three and time is running out.

If City can get safe in the next few weeks, they can show more adventure going forward and ease the stress on the fans who won’t want to be worrying about 10 cup finals as the season comes to an end.

Totally agree, Luke

Respect for Malky's "achievement" of getting this club promoted to the Premier League and a Cup final, but IMHO he threw away any personal credibility he had with his texts...remembering that in some instances it was HIS own players he was referring to! :o

Even worse, he hoodwinked the fans once he knew the 'game was up' yet still he 'milked' their applause and adulation in the knowledge that Tan (love him or loathe him) was right all along and actually gave him (Malky) an 'honourable' get-out opportunity!

The cheers from the loyal Cardiff City FC fans attending should be in support of THEIR club and not towards the OPPOSITION managers!!

If there is a game to win this season, this is it! :ayatollah:

The team looked together against Blackburn and have stopped conceding, they must now kick on and have some self belief. I don't think they are a million miles from this but don't hold your breath. :bluescarf:
