eikrem man of the match

Sun Feb 22, 2015 7:06 pm

Magnus Eikrem scoring a goal and hailed as the man of the match in his first cap for Malmo FF. " I've watched him since he was 12 years old. He did good, but he can do a lot better" said the Swedish coach who signed Eikrem on a free transfer. Eikrem was released on a free transfer two weeks before the transfer window opened. Tobias Sana of Malmo hailed Eikrem after the Swedish cup game, saying he was the kind of player who could produce five assists in one game.

Eikrem is now playing at a much lower level. He proved to be out of his depth at Premiership level but he may have been alright in the Championship. One of many disastrous signings by Ole with the money we paid.

The disaster wasn't signing him but letting him go without giving him a chance.

Every little snippet we saw him, he did pretty well.

Did you watch him in the Premiership when we lost home to Hull 4-0, or Sunderland away when his attempted square pass nearly went out for a corner? The Premiership was simply too quick for Eikrem and the game passed him by. He's probably a good footballer in the Norwegian and Swedish leagues at a lesser standard in a slower paced game, but in the fast paced, physically demanding Premiership and Championship, Eikrem was off the pace and made too many mistakes.

Lol, by that kind of measure all our team from last year should be playing in shit Scandinavian leagues. We were relegated remember!

Eikrem was no worse than loads of last seasons players. 10 minutes here or there just isn't enough for any player to get to grips with the rigours of the Premier League.

And where should Noone be playing this year?

He hasn't played well for ages and his personal mistakes have cost us a few times this season.

Noone has been poor lately but he produced possibly the best performance I've ever seen from a City winger away to Man City. We got relegated last season because Malky was sacked. Our players were doing fine until Tan interfered and Ole stepped in. I have no idea why you've brought that up as this post is about Eikrem, and Eikrem is in my opinion, simply not up to the physicality and pace of the British game.

Yes. Also watched him against Man City and Aston Villa when he was one of the better players. No one can argue he was never given a proper run and chance. Can argue if he has dropped down to lesser standard though. He has not in my opinion.
Most stupid thing you did was drop him in your football manager save :laughing6: Him and Macheda will bring you trophies

I think Eikrem could have done well at championship level given a run, we already have Whitts who does his type of job so it was pointless keeping him.
