' OUR NEXT 7 GAMES ' " SCARY BUT REAL "

Sun Feb 22, 2015 9:25 am

Wigan away
Wolves home
Rotherham away
Charlton home
Brentford away
Bournemouth home
Birmingham home.

Personally I feel if we don't get 2 wins from our next 4 games we will be caught up by those below us and we will be deeply in a relegation battle.

So who thinks we will get the wins. The 2 easy games are away and we cannot buy a win away this season. Our 2 homes games are teams who had good wins this weekend. I don't feel confident we have one win there besides getting the 2 we need.

Now look at the next 3. Who fancies us getting anything from Brentford and Bournemouth? I don't. Birmingham could be hit and miss but I don't fancy our chances there either.

Scary but real.

It's one game at a time for me Ian and surely next Tuesday we have a REAL chance of getting our 2nd away win of the season against a desperate Wigan team who have'nt won a home match since 30th August.

But then you have to factor in the Slade effect and Tuesday will also be his 23rd League match in charge, or half a season, and so far he has won only 25 of the 66 points available. That's relegation form and there are few signs of a recovery but this season we may need as few as 46 points to be safe, or another 3 wins, but I agree we cannot wait until Blackpool and Millwall at Home to get 2 of them because by then we WILL have been dragged deep into a relegation fight.

So on the one game at a time theory how many fancy RS to send out a team to dominate against a team really struggling for any sort of form and score against them other than from a set piece.

How does it go. Hmmmmm

3 points against Wolves will keep the heat off. I feel that game should be targeted as a MUST win match, and if they do not deliver on that home game, Slade should tell some of the failures that they will not be here for next season as they continually let him and the fans down, and that they should play for their careers at this level, as only good performances from there on-in will get them another good contract elsewhere.

I don't care how they do it, they have to beat Wolves.

Jeez, sorry that was long-winded, the coffee has kicked in.

I really feel we are not going to get anything from the Wolves game.

Our back line is starting to look the part but we cannot rely totally on that without some way of relieving the pressure. The only way I can see that happening is to provide the service for the forwards. In KJ we have someone who will take the chances if given them. That to me is where we have been failing badly.

You and I are thinking the same CB.

If RS does not send out a team to dominate this Tuesday, that being a team capable of delivering a service to our strike force, then I will start thinking the problem is lying with him. Then again on paper it could lk like he has done that only to be let down by poor performances which tbh we are seeing from quite a few recently.

You are right Ian, even when we matched Blackburn in terms of commitment there is a huge problem creating anything decent. Kennedy has already proved he can give KJ decent crosses, it's Noone's side that creates nothing, and as for the middle of the park  well I think they have given up trying to play in KJ or Doyle through the middle

Doyle is a willing runner, Kenwyn not so. Already I don't think Doyle is in the chopra class but I genuinely believe we will see a Whitts/Doyle link as Chops and Whitts.

Defensively we look a lot better. The attacking full backs have gone for supporting defend first types, so the emphasis is on the wingers to beat their man fairly and get the cross into a premier league header of the ball and a man willing to put his personal safety on hold to succeed.

Gunnar is there to protect the back 4, we have conceded a lot less lately.

We are riding our luck, but that was the Malky game plan.I think we'll get about 9 points form those 7 games.

I think we'll win 4 of those draw with Wolves and lose to Brentford and Bournemouth.

Wow, that is the most optimistic I have read in a while.

In all fairness with the squad we have we should be doing that. Some are saying we have turned the corner and if we can produce return I will say they are/were right. We will all be feeling comfortable if it happens.

I think we are better than Brum, Wigan, Charlton and Rotherham mate and should be able to beat them. If we don't win at least two of them we'll be seriously involved in a relegation battle but I really think we'll do it and will be looking upwards instead of down.

We've won 9 out of 32 games so far. I've seen nothing to suggest we have improved enough to win 4 out of 7.

The reality is that we have scored 3 times in the last 6 matches. Out of those teams only Wigan have a worse record than us. We should beat Wigan. If we don't then I can't see us getting better than a draw in the other games. Confidence is a big factor in football and at the moment we don't have that. We are not better than B'ham, Charlton & Rotherham on current form. Let's see how we do at Wigan and compare that to the 3-0 that Charlton beat them on Friday.

That's your opinion, we are above Rotherham and Wigan and a point behind the other two with a better goal difference so I'll stand by what I said. Win at Wigan and depending on others could go as high as 12th so I'm staying positive.
