Even I was pleased with the home draw to Blackburn going home from the game. Looking back though, they managed to concede a goal at the death with not one City player trying to disrupt the flow of the game. Not one 'cramp victim,' etc. it really is a shambles down there when the fan expectations have plummeted to this level.

The problem with the players not knowing how to kill a game off (cramp victim, shoe laces) etc is because we are not normally 1 up with 5 mins left on the clock
true that! thats not all Slade's fault, he's not working with the sharpest tools in the box

Our fans will never give him any credit. Like bullies surrounding a victim. This is manager of OUR football club we are talking a out u morons. We all stick together when times are hard.

We are currently in a run of the reverse fixtures from August and September with Wigan and Wolves to complete our opening 10 fixtures. All of these games took place before VT appointed Uncle Fester as OUR manager.
Of the 8 teams we have played in the original 10 fixtures back then we collected 10 points from those games, scoring 10 goals and conceding 13 goals. In the 8 reverse fixtures so far we have taken 7 points, scoring 6 goals and conceding 10.
So IF we win our next 2 games it will mean we will have collected the same number of points which resulted in OGS losing his job.
Which ever way you look at it WE are not "On the rise" as RS claims but are falling further into trouble with every game that passes. In my opinion the question is "If OGS had a better record in those 8 games and lost his job why should RS keep his?"
Nothing moronic in that question.

Whether we are on the rise or not, depends on how the facts and stats are manipulated/interpreted!
The fact of the matter, is that we were playing crap and conceding too many goals under OGS and until the last few games, we were playing crap and conceding too many goals under Slade as well!
We can argue all day long about whether Slade should have used some of the players that weren't used by OGS like Guerra for example, but people are forgetting that Slade had to generally use the same group of players which OGS failed with and had to wait until January to be able to bring in some players, which he obviously believe fit his team and work ethic!
Whether Slade is the right man for the job or not, should be judged over the remainder of the season IMO, as he has had to massively prune the playing squad and has only over the past few weeks managed to bring in some of his own players!
These players have mainly all done well IMO and whilst we are still not playing the type of football to consistently get some of our fans out of their seats, we appear to have stopped the rot of conceding a glut of goals every game!
Hopefully we can now start to put a run of consistent positive performances in, like we did against Blackburn last week!
