Joey Barton - Up to his old tricks again.

What a horrible bloke with plenty of form.

What a sly little vindictive tw*t he is.

Too many of these jumped up weasels in modern football :x

Joey Barton has struggled to adapt to being a high profile footballer coming from a difficult social background.

His brother was wanted for some unsavoury event and Barton was told to go public to the media informing his brother that he should report to the police. That would have gone against his upbringing and most likely turned a few of his own against him.

Then the next game he is playing in he gets chopped down several times from behind, all tackles warranting a red card. He had no support from the ref and we wonder why guys like Barton with his background get pissed of with our world.

Oh deary, deary me ... poor Joey Barton! You paint him as some kind of victim. Came from a poor social background, huh? - well, so do a lot of players, particularly those from South America. He should be pissed off with the world because he didn't get any protection in one particular game?? :laughing6: Stan Bowles used to get kicked from pillar to post in just about every game he played in, I don't recall him having a chip on his shoulder about it though.

OK I will be blunt.

People should not be so stuck up in their opinions of others and should take into account individual circumstances.

I call it reverse snobbery.

Plenty of people have had a tough upbringing but they don't all turn out to be thugs. Don't recall Cassius Clay (Ali) being in constant trouble because of his tough childhood and the prejudices he had to overcome back in those days. Barton is living a life most of us can only dream about, and it's about time he got that chip off his shoulder and acted his age.

Sorry bakedalsker, mate, but plenty of us have come from or been brought up be a less than outstanding social background.

Coming from a difficult background has in fact HELPED me to become, what I would consider, to be a fairly well adjusted member of society.

My God, he is a man not a rebellious teen in puberty!

Do you not think that it is more to do with bravado, so called fame and being a bully ?

Barton had already been on a Premier League record run of seven yellow cards in seven games when he was sent off at Hull’s KC Stadium in the 33rd minute for punching Hull’s Tom Huddlestone between the legs during a general scrap.

The R's captain was dismissed midway through the first half after appearing to aim a punch at Hull's Tom Huddlestone, and he later expressed his remorse at the incident

QPR captain Joey Barton has apologised to his team-mates and the club's fans after he was sent off during his side's 2-1 defeat to Hull City on Saturday.

The former Newcastle midfielder was shown a straight red card midway through the first half by referee Anthony Taylor after appearing to aim a punch at Tom Huddlestone.

The incident came just a few seconds after a late challenge on Hull's David Meyler by debutant Darnell Furlong, and Barton claims he was merely trying to protect his team-mate.

After the game he tweeted: "Young kid making his debut has made a good tackle. Couple of Hull players trying to get him sent off. My job as captain is to protect him.

"I've tried to prevent Hull's players influencing referee as u can see by me pushing [Alex] Bruce away.

"My actions towards Huddlestone were certainly not malicious, it was a stupid reaction to being barged but I can appreciate it wasn't right.

"I'm gutted I got sent off. I've let my teammates down today and being someone who puts the team above everything else I'm gutted about that.

"I've apologised to the lads and would like to apologise to all QPR fans who travelled today."

Barton's red card was the seventh of his career, and leaves manager Chris Ramsey facing the prospect of being without his skipper for QPR's upcoming games against Arsenal and Tottenham.

Met many in my life from that background. Most in the military where it seemed to work for them.

I just feel those that have gone into a more profile environment do struggle. The aggression factor needed to be a top football is challenging for the best of us besides those that know nothing better than running the streets at night if you get my jest. Controlling that aggression is more of a skill than dribbling a ball.

I am sure some of the African players who genuinely had to fight for everything from their real deprived background think he is a c**k too.
