Cardiff City's fans and manager will be happy with another point on the road but questions will still be asked about the Bluebirds' end product.

Russell Slade is making his team hard to beat and they were that at the John Smiths Stadium but apart from a few moments of magic from starlet Matt Kennedy and a controversial incident which saw Kenwyne Jones felled on the edge of the box, there was precious little else to shout about going forward.

But defensively, they coped with the early loss of Scott Malone and a defensive reshuffle that saw Lee Peltier move to left back and Matt Connolly join in at right back.

Marshalled by the superb Bruno Manga, the Bluebirds looked solid all afternoon and coped well with the threat posed by previous nemesis Ishmael Miller off the bench late on.

Apart from the Jones incident, the best chance of the game fell to Cardiff as Matt Kennedy did some excellent work down the right and squared to Peter Whittingham inside the box.

With time to line it up on his favoured left foot, Whittingham looked primed to score but an excellent piece of defending from Murray Wallace saved the day.

Two more chances for Eoin Doyle, one set up wonderfully by Conor McAleny, also went begging but in the end manager Russell Slade will be happy with a point on the road, which is one more towards Championship safety.

But the biggest controversy of a largely dour first half came when Kenwyne Jones was felled on the edge of the box by Tommy Smith right on the stroke of half time.

Cardiff's travelling support screamed for a penalty and red card for the Terriers defender but replays ultimately showed referee Mark Heywood to be correct with the awarding of a free kick and, while the colour of the card was debatable, the defender was given the benefit of the doubt, despite being the last man.

They went in 0-0 at half time and nobody really complained and, in fairness to Cardiff coped with the home pairing of James Vaughan and Nakhi Wells despite the early defensive reshuffle involving Scott Malone and Matt Connolly.

Cardiff made it four draws in a row with a point at Huddersfield but our goalscoring struggles continued at the John Smith's Stadium. The better chances came our way but we couldn't breakthrough, fortunately neither could Huddersfield in a 0-0 draw on Saturday.

Former Bluebirds captain Mark Hudson could have put Huddersfield ahead early but in a rare chance, in the first half at least, he headed over from a Jacob Butterfield corner we kept the Huddersfield attack quiet for most of the first half after this.

Alex Smithies pulled off a brilliant save to keep out an Eoin Doyle header, the former Chesterfield striker looked set for his first goal for the Bluebirds but his header from a Matthew Kennedy cross was brilliantly saved by Smithies as he tipped over.

Sean Morrison, formerly of Huddersfield, headed another effort that we had over after being left unmarked. A constant threat for us from set pieces should have at least hit the target and Huddersfield probably should have been reduced to 10 men before half time when Tommy Smith, who had already been booked, too our Kenwyne Jones but escaped without another card.

Hudson was on hand to block a Peter Whittingham effort early in the second half before Butterfield and, the fortunate Smith, both went close but it was Nahki Wells who was the only one of the three to force a save from David Marshall. That was that, we took on some pressure and tried to hit on the break but there wasn't to be a breakthrough as another point was collected.

We've got to start turning one into three points and we'll only do that if we can score! They mystery is how we're not managing to do this enough given the attacking ability we've got.
