' I thought Cardiff City would be a lot higher up the table'
Former captain Mark Hudson delivers his Bluebirds verdict
Thursday Feb 19th
Hudson leads his current club Huddersfield Town into battle against Cardiff on Saturday in a showdown the two sides need to win.
Russell Slade’s Bluebirds are 15th in the Championship table, one place and one point behind Hudson’s Huddersfield.
And Hudson admits: “I would probably expect Cardiff to be a lot higher up the table. But there are a lot of big teams in this league.
“I really enjoyed my time there, have fond memories and wish them the best.
“But, of course, I want to beat Cardiff at our stadium.”
Cardiff are still keen to make progress and challenge for the play-offs, but look too far off the main challengers to achieve that.
It will take a run of winning form to close the 16 points gap between themselves and Norwich in sixth place.
Hudson, 32, was Bluebirds’ centre-half and club captain when they won 3-1 against Huddersfield at Cardiff City Stadium in August. Kenwyne Jones (2) and Peter Whittingham scored the goals.

The squad we started with I agree should have been and given a chance with a proper manager I think we would have been.
The current squad and manager sadly its all about staying up.
