Marshall - Fans Hopefully Saw The Positives
Goalkeeper and skipper David Marshall has said he felt the fans would've seen the positives and the improvement in the game last night against Blackburn Rovers.
Coming out with a point where the gaffer Russell Slade believes it should really have been all three points, Marshall was pretty much in agreement as he gave his after match verdict to the Official Site.
'We're disappointed not to have taken the three points tonight as I think it's the best we've played for a few weeks. Having scored so late we thought we were going to see it out, obviously they scored and it was even more disappointing that it was their only real chance of the game.'
Marshall went on to say that there were definitely positives that can be taken from the match though, but the focus has to be now building on those positives and maintaining them as we go into the games against Huddersfield Town and Wigan Athletic.
Having been out with injury, Marshall was also asked about the team spirit and he said he felt it had been growing in recent times but obviously that spirit was being overshadowed by results, but he felt the squad was getting there - and obviously he was delighted to be back on a small run having recovered from his problem.
'I've been out for a while but have been back in for the last couple of games. I think defensively we've been quite good in those and have settled with the new boys who have come in. Those sorts of things take time, but I think we're getting there. The signs are there - hopefully we can pick up a couple of wins now and really push on.'
Marshall says the best way to show that will be to go to Huddersfield and back up our three draws on the bounce by getting victory and all three points, because he's confident if we continue to perform as we did against Blackburn then 'we're going to get ourselves up the table fairly quickly.'
